bigugli Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Two go to presentations. Bucktails in various colour and size or, bucktail harnesses
Dozer Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Silver/blue half and half spoon. Catches it all.
Dozer Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 That is if I had to use it for multispecies and only one lure. Each species has a different "go to"
chris.brock Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 (edited) this is it please discuss, just kidding, don't discuss, good thread Geoff for the record, Dempsey found this spoon Edited November 10, 2016 by chris.brock
Musky Plug Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Have a few, for bass a 4" yum dinger T - rigged black with silver tip. (Unfortunately can't find anymore) Jackall DD squirrel has caught me more fish then I can shake a stick at, including my gfs 2 skis in one day. For trolling musky would be a tie between BWB's, Headlocks and Staklers. Casting skis would be bulldawgs.
kickingfrog Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Really depends on species and time of year but... Super spook 5.5 inch suspending husky jerk Tennesse shad Hollow body sunfish
GBW Posted November 10, 2016 Author Report Posted November 10, 2016 just kidding, don't discuss, good thread Geoff Thanks. We needed a good one Really depends on species and time of year but... Yes, very much so this is why I posed the "general" Q as we all fish differently. I was a die hard rapala hard bait (HJ's) person but changed a few years ago so just seeing who likes what and why
wormdunker Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Perch coloured Go Getters with a 1" chunk of dew worm for walleye in the northern Ontario lakes I frequent, followed closely by the original floating rapala, black/silver. The rest of my tackle in 3 tackle bags is used primarily for ballast!! LOL!
AKRISONER Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 (edited) knew it that no one could get it down to one. whatchyall know bout an owner stand up jig with an OSP craw? if you wanna catch anything...fish it Edited November 10, 2016 by AKRISONER
Lape0019 Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Gamakatsu G finesse wacky hook in 1/8 or 1/16oz weight with a wacky rigged Power team lures sick stick is something I throw almost every time I am out. My colour of choice is Dinner bell. I do not know what it is with this colour, but it works.
Walleye'm Fishing Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Tubes. In all colours and sizes. 12 months of the year I agree 100% You will catch every species that swims this way.
SirCranksalot Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 this is it please discuss, just kidding, don't discuss, good thread Geoff for the record, Dempsey found this spoon Looks a lot like a trolling spoon to me!!
dave524 Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Think I have caught just about every species of gamefish , except carp suckers and mudcats on Mepp's Comet spinners.
Loonietoon Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 My fav and can not find any more as l lost my last one on a 33in pic was a beno 4 jointed eel wish l could still get them.. but no way
Sterling Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 For pike I love me a #1 syclops spoon, they cast like a football so you get tremendous distance. Hot tiger is my best but any color will do. Finicky fish like summer specks, nothing beats slow death hook with half a nightcrawler. 8lb fluoro line, bury that hook completely. Deep walleye shad raps are great, the UV ones performed well this summer in tanned water. Harnesses always work too if you can get your speed way down. For perch my strategy is different; I bring my line in, take off whatever I'm fishing with, and go home. (jk, perch or walleye rigs in the winter anyway).
Sinker Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Worm harness or a 4" white grub on a 1/4oz jighead.
JoshS Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 If I had to pick one for non-esox, I'll take a jig n grub. If I had to pick one for esox, I'll take a big black spinnerbait.
Ralph Field Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 For steelhead , hands down , it would be a dominion 377 spoon, but lucky strike bought them out and stopped producing them.
aplumma Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 this is it please discuss, just kidding, don't discuss, good thread Geoff for the record, Dempsey found this spoon I hear it only works in Florida ohio and a few other states.lol Art
GBW Posted November 10, 2016 Author Report Posted November 10, 2016 Hey, if anyone has lures they cannot find anymore but it's a "tried and true lure for you" might as well post a pic as someone may have it in the box and not use it anymore. If I make my way up to see Rick I know I'll be packing a bunch of grub's he likes but cannot find locally.
Beans Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 My favorite is a 2 1/2 inch Phenix smoke colored salted tube...Caught a nice 2+lb smallie on one under a slip float about an hour ago...I think Phenix stopped making that color in the 2 1/2 inch size...
manitoubass2 Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Hey, if anyone has lures they cannot find anymore but it's a "tried and true lure for you" might as well post a pic as someone may have it in the box and not use it anymore. If I make my way up to see Rick I know I'll be packing a bunch of grub's he likes but cannot find locally. That would be awesome! Hopefully you can visit someday soon brotha! Id be down to help as well but im pretty sure sunset country doesnt have any lures that arent available to people in southern ontario. Ironically the tackle shops here suck pretty bad.
