Old Ironmaker Posted August 2, 2015 Report Posted August 2, 2015 Heaven will have a special Angel to watch over us all now. Inspirational isn't the word to describe this special woman. May you all have peace.
Whopper Posted August 2, 2015 Report Posted August 2, 2015 (edited) What an amazing person, but then again Jen is just one part of a strong family. Thoughts and prayers for the entire O'Shea family. Edited August 2, 2015 by Whopper
Handlebarz Posted August 2, 2015 Report Posted August 2, 2015 Oh Wayne so very sorry to hear this we are still thinking of you guys here.
glen Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers all day.
irishfield Posted August 3, 2015 Author Report Posted August 3, 2015 She just won't shut down... had a seizure at 9 this morning, we managed to stop that. Rob (Dr Helt) has been here all day, now 10 hours and has made 3 trips to the hospital for more drugs as he expected she wouldn't make it past noon. Now 7:25pm. She has over 100 mg of Valium in her as well as a large quantity of hydromorphone. Her body is just not ready to call uncle. Strong heart beat and breathing, all we can do is wait it out. Leah's been up for 35 hours now and I'm trying to get her to bed. Daryl and Kristal here all day as well. My night shift I guess tonight, we fired nursing yesterday.
ketchenany Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Wayne be strong. I spent my last night with my mother. Her doctor had briefed us on what to look for and expect, and he was spot on. I feel for you and your family with this strong child, but nature will win. When my mom was diagnosed at stage four. We were told it's a war and the ending will be the same. Wayne as I told you my mother was 90, we didn't fight the war she went with dignety, with us (12) by her side. Times are difficult but remember the good times.
Joey Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Well I'm at a loss for words Wayne and Leah, Jen is so strong, I thought for sure she had this thing beat. I am ever hopeful, but if it is time, may she go with the angels and be at peace. You are in our thoughts and if you ever need anything, I mean anything, please give us a call. So sorry to hear this. Take care O'Shea family Joey and Paul
irishfield Posted August 3, 2015 Author Report Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Now you know what I couldn't fix Hun! Thanks for the thoughts. Sitting here doing our favourite thing together, watching a big lightning storm out the window. I can see it and I'm giving her the play by play. W Edited August 3, 2015 by irishfield
ketchenany Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Most of us doing the same thing with you Wayne.
Pikeslayer Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Our family is so saddened by your news Wayne. Cast-Away Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 So sorry to read this just now Wayne. The big storm you mentioned a short time ago just blew through Newmarket and I wonder if that was Jen stirring up the heavens before she leaves you and your family for a better place. God bless
lunkerbasshunter Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 I have not been on her in a long time and felt like I needed to see whats going on at OFC. I have been watching Jen's journey and she is truly an inspiration. My thoughts will be with you and your families for these tough days ahead.

pics Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 I'm sure there are a lot of people besides myself who are checking this thread for the inevitable announcement. The fact that she is holding on goes to show her spirit and will to live.. she is truly one of a kind.. I don't really pray but I will today...
msp Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Hang in there Wayne and Leah. Your family is a true inspiration to us all This thread goes to show how strong our little community is Great work OFC
Rich Clemens Posted August 3, 2015 Report Posted August 3, 2015 Jen is one who has beaten the odds, proved the specialists wrong, and conquered adversity more times in the past 5 years than most people could ever do in an entire lifetime - more than one life-time. Jen truely is an inspiration to everyone with whom she has come into contact. I see Jen letting behind a legacy that many will remember and look up to - for many years to come. Truely a first-class lady. Sad times for all of us here on OFC - she's become part of all our families.
Loonietoon Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Wayne and Leah, I do not know what to say and I know what you are going through as you know i went trough it a few years back. I am at a total loss and so sorry it has come to this. You need anything call me or email if I can help. Kelvin

bigugli Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Leave the computer for a few days to come back and read this. I am so deeply saddened by this news. I don't know quite what to say. God bless you and your family, and may God keep Jen close by his side.
Ronzo Posted August 4, 2015 Report Posted August 4, 2015 Thoughts and prayers for you and your family - if everyone in the world had your daughter's strength, courage and determination, we'd be living in a perfect world.
irishfield Posted August 4, 2015 Author Report Posted August 4, 2015 Safe flight Jellybean, I love you. Guess she wanted to make sure we never forgot the date, as she knew our love for her was twice as strong as Leah and mines love for each other. Our 33rd Anniversary today. Jennifer May Leah OShea Feb 27, 1985 to August 4, 2015 In the family home after an inspirational five plus year battle against Ewings Sarcoma. Jennifer passed away surrounded by her parents, siblings and their significant others, as well as family friend Dr. Robert Helt. Cherished middle child of Wayne and Leah OShea, sister to Daryl (Holly) and Kristal (Aaron).
