Headhunter Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 I was never a fan of hot dogs, but this isn't going to change my mind! Try not to think of this when you are roasting your dog over an open fire camping! http://www.littlethings.com/hot-dogs-are-made/?utm_source=kit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=shocking HH
dave524 Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 Looks similar to the process McDonald's uses to make Chicken McNuggets.
AKRISONER Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 ive never been a big fan of hotdogs lol, but im surprised that the ingredients are that simple. its not actually that bad after all. Just a heck of a lot of fat, and not much meat reminds me of this https://youtu.be/YLoV9xS9rxk?t=2m23s
Old Ironmaker Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) Not bad if you like to eat beaks and arses, tongues, eyes, brains and hoofs. It is basically the same recipe as pet foods. Way back I had a pal that went to Maple Leaf Foods for a job. He lasted just long enough to pay off his work boots. He has never eaten a Death Dog since that morning. Rodbender Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) Look up mechanically de-boned meat and there's your McDonldald Nuggets Edited June 3, 2016 by Rodbender
jimmer Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 I was a plumber back in he day. Did a lot of restaurant kitchen work and that turned me off most restaurants for a time. Best not to think about it and just eat.
dave524 Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 Look up mechanically de-boned meat and there's your McDonldald Nuggets Googling " Pink Slime " will give pretty much the same results
manitoubass2 Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 How bout adding enzymes to fuse meats? Yay science!
crappieperchhunter Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 In order of preference Debbe and I will both take a good burger everytime, with the odd sausage thrown in for a change. Neither of us have every been hot dog eaters. Had the grandkids for an overnighter in February and they wanted dogs. The left over ones are still in the freezer...probably until there next overnighter or until they are thrown out....whichever comes first.
Cast-Away Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 To quote from the movie Summer Vacation, "Hotdogs are made from lips and cuties." Dan Aykroyd
Raf Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 i don't really see anything disturbing about it? other than the snouts and entrails but i already knew that lol.
Smokercrafty Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 Just had a few franks tonight!! Mmmm good!
Fisherman Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 Haven't eaten that garbage in over 20 years.
adempsey Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 Doesn't bother me one bit. It's just cooked ground meat with spices. Sure they add some corn syrup, but whatever. There are far worse things to eat.
Mister G Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 To quote from the movie Summer Vacation, "Hotdogs are made from lips and cuties." Dan Aykroyd You must be thinking of the movie "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd.....during the scene where Roman is grilling lobsters. The other movie "Summer Rental" only had John Candy in it........no Aykroyd.
Spiel Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 Mmmmm, love a good hot dog every once in a while.
bow slayer Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 that's nothing you should see what is in the flour at industrial bakeries.,what the QC found in some of the samples. I worked at one for many years right out of high school. If you knew you would put store bought bread on the list of what not to eat. I also heard of the many horror stories I heard from my brother working at Kelloggs in London. Now back to my frank and beans.
GBW Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 the one's I get a food basic's in town have an "official Blue Jay's Dog" logo on them; so are they made partly of bluejays?!?!?!?!

We make homemade bread but have to sift all the flour. 90% or so of the time there is nothing(at least visible) but the other 10% of the time we find these hard shell insects or these lil beatles with a yellow stripe on the back. GBW, those are made from the dogs of blue jays players?
davey buoy Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 Any time anything is made industrial with employees?,I mean anything?,if a bad day with the boss?,who knows what they do?.I will not worry about that.Ingredients? A hot dog sounds good now lol.
