netminder Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 I was down around lake Ontario about two weeks ago and it looked wide open south of Mississauga. Water level was way down though.
davey buoy Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 Went across the Gardiner 3 days ago, lake O looked wide open in the TO area or waterfront anyway.

grizzlybri Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 a small lake near me is 100% open, I'll try and get pictures up
Big Cliff Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 (edited) When I came across the causeway at Port Perry about 6:30 last night Scugog was open around the causeway but it looked like there was still a lot of ice out on the main body of the lake. Water level looked really low! Edited April 11, 2015 by Big Cliff
ccmtcanada Posted April 11, 2015 Author Report Posted April 11, 2015 (edited) Great shot of southern Ontario. Looks like Scugog is pretty much ice free. Rice is breaking up quickly and parts of Sturgeon as well. Edited April 11, 2015 by ccmt

I was heading for Cooch today for one last shot on the ice but my American partner had to back out so I said no way on my own. Still looks pretty white. Probably would have been fine out of Airport road one last time. Tears in my eyes as I put my vex and ice rods away
SirCranksalot Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 not much left on G Bay either http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/modis.php?region=h&page=1&template=sub&image=a1.15101.1825.LakeHuron.143.250m.jpg
Joeytier Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 Still about 30" on Kipawa as of today. Highs forecasted in double digits for the rest of the month, so I hope to be out for specks and greys shortly after the Apr. 24 opener. Will be very tight.
Sinker Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 Suits me fine. Boat is in the driveway itching to go! Might go tear up the bog after work tomorrow! Saaaweeeet! S.
DRIFTER_016 Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 We still have a bit of ice. It was pretty warm today and there is water on the ice now.
4x4bassin Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Getting reports from a couple inland lakes in the Parry Sound area and they are telling me 17" - 20" of ice still .

Emily creek is blown open as well as lower pigeon lake I even seen an osprey yesterday by next weekend she will be all gone !!!! With the mild temps Comming
manjo39 Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) Is this off of Sturgeon Point? Where is the second picture from on the lake. Edited April 12, 2015 by manjo39
DRIFTER_016 Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 The approach at the entrance to the ice road on my lake is getting a tad damp. The portage is starting to get gummy too. Managed a couple of final trips to the cabin to drop off a bunch of rigid insulation and other items needed when the ice goes out. Ice on the lake is still 4 to 5 feet thick.
captpierre Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Scugog looks wide open driving by. Saw a boat flying across from Port. Upper Buckhorn open as far as the eye can see from Gannon Narrows. South Pigeon partly open. North Pigeon still locked up but ice is soft Won't be long now with the warm forecast
SirCranksalot Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 At a G Bay trib yesterday. Just a tiny bit of ice in the background.
206 Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Rice yesterday, Bo-Didley end... Starting to pull off shores but all islands down threw are still locked up.
chris.brock Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 An old timer I was talking to said the big lakes in Haliburton should be mostly open water by next weekend.
