mitch seguin Posted September 17, 2020 Report Posted September 17, 2020 I have heard of crap like this but when I see this 💩. I'm speechless!

mitch seguin Posted September 17, 2020 Report Posted September 17, 2020 The reg allows for a few species of coarse fish to be taken by bow and arrow. Trout are not on the list. e
grimsbylander Posted September 17, 2020 Report Posted September 17, 2020 Regardless of the bowfishing aspect, the language leads me to think their double wide was just out of camera range. 1
Rustic-Fisher Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 That area will be shut down shortly , amount of garbage laying around is ridiculous . No parking signs are in the works , from what i've heard .
Toronto_Angler Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Good lord what did I just watch???
mamona Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 I agree with Rustic, this area will be shut down shortly. Well deserved.
Dutch01 Posted September 18, 2020 Report Posted September 18, 2020 Does anyone on the board have a contact at the MNR we could forward the video to? The guy's face is visible, so if they can track him down he could (and should) be charged. 1
Snidley Posted September 20, 2020 Report Posted September 20, 2020 At this time of year the wardens are busy wit much more egregious poaching than that. Wildlife like bears, deer, moose etc take a pounding at this time of year. Nice to see that bow fishing in a crowd does not seem to alarm the other "anglers". Soooo... I guess it is safe.

chessy Posted September 21, 2020 Report Posted September 21, 2020 if he is native nothing can be done .. 2 years ago i was at ganny and a native was bowfishing downtown shooting arrows in 6 inches of water as they moved up stream people were standing 30 yards away from him as he shot towards them . i called police and they told me they have had a number of complaints about him doing it and the mnrf told them that if the people felt unsafe to move as the native has more rights to be there then them... this is nothing to do with racism as i have a native grandchild.. i am not happy that they can do it ... but they can 2

He was fishing using means that are considered illegal for non carded people. Not condoning it but he was well within his rights. OPP and CO officers have had to eat their words and threats on many occasions; once his card was produced. Dan.

Bessogon Posted October 5, 2022 Report Posted October 5, 2022 (edited) I went bow fishing for salmon for the first time last year, and it was an amazing experience. The river was so full of fish that it was hard to track them all, and the action was non-stop. I even snagged a few fish myself, which was a real thrill. It's a different way to fish and one that I recommend to anyone looking for a new challenge. You can find all the necessary tips on https://bowarchery.com/best-bowfishing-lights-for-muddy-water/. Also, there is a lot of valuable equipment. Suppose you're lucky enough to get on a river with a good run of salmon. In that case, you're in for an unforgettable experience Edited October 6, 2022 by Bessogon 1
Snidley Posted October 6, 2022 Report Posted October 6, 2022 I think someone is having us on. Fun times behind the screen.
CrowMan Posted October 6, 2022 Report Posted October 6, 2022 Yeah, same dude has posted the same thing on other local fishing sites the last couple of days. Obviously looking for a reaction. Ignore and they will go away. 3
msp Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 I don’t see anything wrong with it if the individual is of Native decent. It would be within his right to do so.
Terry Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 So were they bow hunting coho in the rivers in the 1800s or when their treaties were signed, this is a traditional thing bring home coho to share with the elders. so they should be able to continue doing it
