  1. Was in Orillia last week teaching ice water rescue to various emergency services staff. Usually as an instructor you’re able to read the ice and minimize your plunges through it , (makes for a long day if your constantly crawling yourself out ) this year it’s been next to impossible to read , 5” in one spot then 1” a few meters over . Stay safe and dry fellas, it’s completely unsafe in many spots .
  2. Hahahah, you may be right , I run a tiller.
  3. Diawa fuego 8:1 , and a decent abu rod . All cleaned up nice . 100% is gonna be given to a young Angler , my 13 year old knows a young fella that would love to have this if we can’t find the original owner . I
  4. Snagged a rod today trolling .if you recognize it let me know and we’ll get it back to you .
  5. Full moon top water ….. nothing like it !
  6. Just back from a week of Kawartha Muskie hunting , no giants but fish were biting . Cold fronts made things interesting. Wish I had pics but fishing solo with the wind and waves pics would have stressed em to much. Sound advice from all the members , Knipex .. get em , along with an assortment of quality replacement hooks . Its 100% better for the fish to just cut hooks rather then keeping them outta the water for prolonged periods . I became obsessed with them 4 years ago lol, even sold my Ranger for a 188 Tiller . I fish all the spots you’re looking at and I’m usually solo in the late season, welcome to come out .
  7. Update …. Main fuse .. (fusible link) between the battery and the alternator. 10” section of wiring harness . Easy fix Thanks for all the reply’s and advise , now time to get back out after some musky !
  8. NICE !!!!! Kids back in school , boat fixed , cool weather … its go time !!!!
  9. Thanks Guys New battery, old one would not charge past 80% when I pulled it and put it on the nautilus charger . Ran the rig the rest of the time with no graphs on , or live wells . Other than a few rips with the kiddos on the tub most trips were 15 min , hope that your right and it was just not run long enough .
  10. Hit Buckhorn last week for the yearly one week vacation, bass fishing was great lots of 1.5-2lbers anywhere you hit . I try and hit deep weed edges so the kid can bass fish and I can fish for Musky . Caught some beauty bass on musky bucktails , but only had a few musky follows all week , not a lot of musky areas were hit though as I wanted to stay close to the resort incase there was a motor issue after my mishap of hitting a rock and damaging the skeg and stainless prop , thank god for the kicker motor that limped me back . Great spinner bait bite on the lake last week , white was the ticket . Voltage question ….. Ranger 1760VS 150 OPTIMAX on the back , and a 9.9 pro Kicker .All week my voltage reading was 12v then under load would drop to 11.3 when under throttle , smatcraft gauge alarmed a few times (low voltage ) cranking battery is a brand new 24 series think it’s possible I need larger ? 27, 31 ? Boat heads back to the dealer Fri for them to assess it . Any opinions are welcome . FYI , big large was caught off the resort dock , rushed up for a pic and then rushed down and swam away healthy thx
  11. Thanks for all the tips guys !!!
  12. Finally happened ….. smoked a rock with my boat last week on a Kawartha lake , I literally had fished the area a ton a times , and just found a random rock . Two graphs running .. 8 FOW lots of room … NOPE!! Gotta thank Kawartha Prop !! They are the guys to see should this happen !!!. Pounded the skeg back to semi straight , replaced prop (stainless being reconditioned) and back in the water in 40min , temp fix so we could enjoy the rest of the week .. No major damage (fingers crossed ) but Jesus what a sound !! Best part ….. happened on the boats second voyage !
  13. Question guys , looking to get a top notch custom rod tied for one of our Captains that is retiring , Any recommendations?
  14. Thanks for the ideas! after careful thought .. I bailed on it . Figure I'll just save the $$$ and continue to feed my new Muskie obsession lol. No riggers this year .
  15. Running a G3 177 Outfitter , Tiller . Thinking of mounting a cannon track system on the gunnel, it’ll be tight …. Has anyone mounted a track sys on narrow gunnels ? was gonna reinforce under the gunnel where the track sys goes .
  16. We’re 10 min North of you Ron , unfortunately the same thing has happened out this way , houses and cars on multiple occasions. We had the house broken into , Lotta lowlifes out there , I’ll keep my eyes open for your rig on the local tribs
  17. NICE!!! those singles look deadly!
  18. Thx …. We were much further East , glad to hear other kids are into them also . I don’t fish for them much anymore once they enter the rivers or mouths BUT love seeing how amped up my son gets fishing for them !
  19. After a week of hockey tryouts and stress for the young fella , sometimes the best therapy is forgetting about everything and just chucking lures off a cement pier, left the boat at home … grabbed 3 lures and just went. Cast … retrieve …reflect and then cast again . The fish are truly a bonus!
  20. Looks like an Amazing morning out! even better you shared it with your son . Miss that creek !!
  21. We were on Buckhorn first week of Aug , kids destryed the Crappie of the dock @ around 10 pm nightly , shinners they had caught through out the day and glow in the dark slip floats did the most damage .Water was 5' .Glad you got into a few fish .
  22. Great pics , Shinner fly ... well done it looks great ! and it worked !
  23. Thanks for the advice and tips , fishing did pick up, we got em in the thick slop . Punching jigs through the thick mats produced lots of 1.5-2lbers . Kid had a blast .
  24. Hoping that’s the case BillM And agree GBW , I’ve marked em deep and no takers , We've downsized everything , flipping Bitzy bugs , and tossing 3” yammy senkos LOL, that’s what the big guys have slammed .
