In the various rescue reports, there's often a line talking about possible charges and fines. Does anybody know what violation(s) they could be charged with? I'm not aware of any that apply. Or is it some goofy municipal bylaw?

The Adams St and the 25th SdRd is just south of IBP and yesterday this was ALL Wide open.

I guess that could be where the Fire Dept caught up to them and they actually started their drift off the Sixth.

I noticed on CP24 this morning that they are talking about fining the folks from last week's rescue $100.00 each.

I know that that amount doesn't come close to the actually cost of the rescues... but I'd like to know what the charge would be... ?

I'd make up a charge. But I'd start with negligence then go to criminal negligence if a rescuer was killed.

These guys are making us (anglers) look bad...I can't believe how stupid people are and I don't think that is harsh.

Would be interesting if one of these two was one of the previous 26. :whistling:

I guess if the had a power auger they could hang it off the back of the floe and giver to shore?

I love the last part

"Provincial police remind anglers to have ice hunts off lakes by March 15"

This just goes to show that "You can't fix stupid!!!"

The charge they should be hit with is Criminal Stupidity in the first degree!!!

There are numerous charges that could be laid. Mischief, endangerment, or negligence clauses that cover any act, or failure to act, which causes damage, harm, or public risk.
