Hi All, A few pals of mine have done the nippissing buzz the last few years for early ice in january but have decided to mix it up abit this year, can anyone here suggest a nice lake with some good fishing in the same area? we love our big fish, CPR for the most part. (don't mind a small fry every now and then) any info in that area would be appreciated! thanks!

In a kayak tournament on saturday - wondering if anyone had any ideas how to fish the islands for early season pike?? Ive been once, stuck around the pike cut, did ok. nothing spectacular.. any tips or advice would be welcome!! thanks!

Slovakia was all over them the first half of the game... eventually got tired and Canada took advantage. The Camara hit was clean.. what a nice hit, too bad the Slovakian d-man had his head down, when you play at that level of hockey you should know that you cant put yourself in that position... when you do, its gonna hurt..

Hey dudes, we had 2 buddies drop out of a Jan 4th - 6th ice fishing trip up in nipissing! we booked with Idle Tyme fishing camp! we booked a 6 man.. 3 are confirmed - we are leaving 1 open bed for baggage etc... 3 good guys, fishing, smoking and drinking for 3 nights! Well, another golf season is over with! It was a pretty successful year, took down a couple team cash events & for the first time I ended up taking my golf club's Club Championship (Rebel Creek) this year. Golf takes up a majority of my time in the summer, which leaves the fall to make up for lost time. This time of year is bitter sweet, golf comes to a close and but the fish start to take their migratory runs up our beautiful ontario rivers and streams. I've been getting my fair share of water time this fall.. Last weekend was a blast with my favourite river clearing up, with perfect conditions. enjoy the pics & be safe out there!

what an great read mike! you have a way with words that make you feel like your there in the flesh... I couldn't imagine coming that close to a polar bear, i would literally have to clean my drawers after that for sure! but then quickly get back to the fishfest, pantless of course. The chronzy shore lunch looks damn good! I do feel bad for Bill tho, eating trailmix and you got fresh cooked slab on your plate!! lol totally jealous...again!

i was there also.. i was behind the penalty box.. I went down to the Marlies vs. Hamilton Bulldogs game on Friday night and noted the following: - Best Marlie hands down: Colton Orr (first goal, fight, third star of the game) - he played great, - Scrivens looked very good didnt have to work alot for the shutout - Kadri was invisible. Complete crap - Won't play in the NHL (IMHO) i dont think he hit one person the whole game. i think he whines more than my neice. - The Bulldogs never were a threat they played terrible - The captain of the Marlies (Hamilton, I think his name was) looked gritty and good, but too small perhaps? also, zigomanis played great too. Bill, if you saw how kadri played friday night you may have a different opinion. he was the smallest guy on the ice, and didnt go into any corners, hes gonna have to re-vamp his game to be effective in the NHL.. jeff finger - 3.5m/yr and hes in the AHL!! yikes!

funny. that's exactly what i told them when they said i have to wait until monday..

plans were made last minute...i never said i expected them to be open. the notice in the tackle shop said to call this number to ensure your postal code is correct. why would i expect their to be problems? i am sure i'm not the only person who make last minute fishing plans.. now how many people trying to get a license last minute get this error and hinders them from enjoying a day of fishing? my question is why would the mnr have a system where the ONLY thing you can lookup is the postal code? and if they have your wrong postal, you have to call in and talk to a rep thats open mon-fri 9-5? why not add in your full address? your name w/ photo ID? your likes and dislikes? something else that can help the customer get their license? instead of the instant roadblock.

i did the same thing saturday! what a crock!!!! I give them my postal code (i have lived in the same place for 3 years) and it doesnt come back so they tell me to call a 1800 number.. i do that and theyre not even open to help me!!! so my plans to fish sunday were thrown out the window... i have been fishing my whole life and have NEVER had any issue witj renewing my lic. and now they have this "new" system and im told im SOL. thanks MNR... you cant even have 1 person work the phones on the weekend...
