glen Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 They are pretending to not understand English.
lew Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 I hate when I call a company in Canada and am told if I want service in English, I need to press 1
Rich Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 It's called outsourcing. Telemarketing companies were the last to join the corporate club.
workwear Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 called fido the other day and a french lady answers....i thought cool...someone in canada that will talk to me in English i can understand....she didnt want anything to do with the english language....i was polite to ask her a few questions in english....and she kept saying something to the effect of ..'.either you speak to in french or else i wont be able to respond to you' well i lost it on her....i couldnt believe the oddacity of this broad!!!
Locnar Posted October 31, 2013 Report Posted October 31, 2013 Lew, I understand fully what you mean... However, we are technically a "Bilingual" country... French is also a national language. Therefore, English press 1, French press 2 seems reasonable. Unless it's, English press 1... Indian press 2... Chinese press 3.
outllaw Posted October 31, 2013 Author Report Posted October 31, 2013 I just lost a supplier in business because of a wester union idiotic deal. I called for a tracking question. they refunded the funds. I never asked for refund. of course I asked for a superviser. she was in china. man I have not been this wound in a while. I went from Canada, malaysia,to c.hina in 2 hours. are there any canadiens in this business anymore
grimsbylander Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 no wunder I am bald HAHAHA Now I know what my problem is too!!! That' was too funny!
glen Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 That sucks outlaw. So are they going to speak English or do have to learn Chinese. Hmm I guess will have to learn Chinese.
krixxer Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I always hit 2. Moncton gets most of my C/S business.
Christopheraaron Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Indian press 2... Chinese press 3. To be fair neither of those are languages.... But ya I hate when companies outsource. Although it is a very good tool for smaller businesses (not customer support).
BillM Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 If there's a French option, hit that button.. You'll get someone that speaks english just fine. Outsourcing is here to stay, so you old boys will just need to deal with it
DRIFTER_016 Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I had to call my internet people the other day as I forked out the cash for NHL Centre Ice and needed more bandwidth. My internet is through North West Tel. They all speak English and the call centre is in Alberta or The Yukon.
Raf Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 even before i get to speak to anyone, the endless automated prompts / menus drive me up the wall. 0....0... 0... godammnit.
manitoubass2 Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Patience. Its a virtue. We as voters did this. Lets undue it. Yeah right
Old Ironmaker Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 There is a simple solution folks to this problem, demand that we all pay 20% or more for our consumer products here and we will talk to someone domestic, in any language you wish. To take it one more step, demand we pay another 20% and we can make those offshore consumer goods here in good old Canada.
cuzza Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 why is it,when you call to contact business on an issue. there all offshore non understanding of English . I have had enuff. that's my rant. no wunder I am bald You're complaining about other people's English?
Mike Pike Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Nothing says; "I don't REALLY care about solving your problem" like an overseas help centre. Cuz what company would want to hire local and have to pay miminum wage! Heck, how would they be able to give their executives riduculous bonuses then!
Squid Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 C'mon guys our country is bilingual so get used to it. Nothing like being bigots eh and if you want someone who speaks 'english' and is from our side of the pond then press 2 for french and then you will get a bilingual person from Canada. I am surprised that a MOD has not locked this topic yet.
Muskieman Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) .... edited , that was the Steam Whistle talking . Sorry . I agree lock 'er up Edited November 2, 2013 by Randy from Sturgeon
little mountain Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 If there's a French option, hit that button.. You'll get someone that speaks english just fine. Outsourcing is here to stay, so you old boys will just need to deal with it thats what i do. You will get a french speaking Canadian that can speak english better than if you get someone from overseas.
Dara Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 I hate when I call a company in Canada and am told if I want service in English, I need to press 1 Press one what?
