I don't buy that OI. I'm not going to search through videos, but I can remember Cherry getting choked up a few times over the years when he's commemorating a soldier or veteran. I've watched coaches corner forever, I think it's genuine, from the heart, it's a topic he's passionate about, and rightfully so. my take on this- "you people" referred to people who are new to Canada. New Canadians are from all continents, hundreds of different countries, and have every possible skin colour, white, purple, whatever. I don't think there's anything wrong with Don asking them to show some respect and appreciation for the older generations of new Canadians and Indigenous people who DIED, GAVE THEIR LIVES in war, so now we can all enjoy this great country. I find it sad that Cherry who stood up for a lot great causes, and was a proud Canadian, will now go down in shame because of political climate crap.

Actually I locked it and deleted it... Cannabis Junkie looks to be an alias for a second account here.. and all his/her posts were about growing weed on our fishing forum, we are trying our best to keep the content as much about fishing as possible. Im as pro cannabis as anyone, but its not very fishing related and it looked alot like spam to me. No Profile Picture, a gmail address thats never been used anywhere else., Using a VPN ... We get complaints about everything... not enough fishing posts or too many non fishing posts.. there's no winning that discussion. If we allowed every new member to just come on and talk about non fishing things this wouldn't be much of a fishing forum. It looked like spam to me.. Fishing posts as much as possible please, but for your first posts to be weed and only weed related, well thats just spammy. - as is second acounts, which are SPECIFICALLY not allowed it looks like that was.... all IPs are recorded. that's my take.. Cannabis has done alot of good things for alot of people, but there are PLENTY of Canadian Cannabis forums out there to choose from. It was reported as spam to me and I took what I thought was reasonable action.

Had one of those days in the basement yesterday which started at the desktop around 9:00am and ended there 'bout midnight. Did go upstairs to fry some of last November's Quinte walleye catch, pour a gin and have a nice family dinner. The fish was actually fine, I store it with the arctic char, incredibly over-wrapped-up and inside a styrofoam cooler in the freezer. Seems to keep any burn off, we had 16 month old char last week and it was good too. Fried the walleye though in a third Shake N Bake, third buttermilk pancake mix and a third Hint of Roasted Garlic crushed Tostitos, the girls really liked it a lot. Walleye were one fish I didn't get after this autumn at all. Maybe there's still time but the boat has dug itself pretty deep into the garage now under a blanket of anxious ice fishing gear. It's a shame I'm outta of walleye though, cause I need a physical exam and work note for a new job but I don't have a family Doc at the moment. One guy who's offered is always asking for walleye and it slipped the mind that I was gonna pay for that visit with him in fillets. Co-workers are always after me fish, heck I had to trade char for a CPR recert last fall. About that day yesterday though, some time and motivation got the juices flowing to do some writing and it so happened I got caught up on some seasonal articles for the site. To the "Home Angling" section, reports on gar, muskies and sturgeon were posted because it was a pretty good year of fishing for 'em, some HUGE fish were caught and I figured may as well be a show-off about it. Easy to read stuff, nothing too artsy, just the blow-by-blows really. Sooooo, if no one is going to get offended about things, go on ahead and look at some fish if you like. How can calling out racism be shutting down a debate about racism? That is just absurd but i'm glad you brought that up because it is definitely an indication of the political climate you speak of, in terms of how people try to silence voices that cannot be heard in order for things to stay the way they are, I won't be silenced by that kind of perverse reasoning .

Hmmm? First they banned non residents from catching their own bait, now it has progressed to residents? As a citizen in possession of a valid license should you not be entitled to catch your own bait anywhere a commercial netter is allowed?

Guilty I am, sorry fellas I got off track with the charter talk. I'm was never a huge cherry fan but firing a colour commentator for colour in the comments speaks to the sick political climate these days. The pc crowd is going to far and screeming racist to end a debate is destructive and cowardly.

Sorry folks this thread got deleted when Cannabis Junky was banned from OFC . I felt that it was such a good thread I am restarting it. Roy due to health issues retired from OFC. I will never be able to fill his shoes completely but I will continue to try. Thank you to Roy for all of the time he freely gave to the members here and for the friendship that I have enjoyed with him for all of those years. Art

My reply from the city Thank you for your inquiry. The City of Barrie Marina has maintained a No Fishing policy during the operating season for many years. These specific signs are to discourage fishing and minnow harvesting from the Marina docks specifically. The docks are City property, and only those with and MNR issued Commercial Bait Harvesting Licence and permitted by the City may access the Marina docks in the non-boating season. You are free to ice fish anywhere on the Lake, but we ask that you not walk or access our docks while doing so.

If we traded him we would likely get a couple of good pieces in return. I think it would be worthwhile as there is interest in him from other teams.

No so far no one has sent a report that it is going wrong. If people don't report an issue I am inclined to let things run if people are not attacking each other. Art

Hopefully we can get some of those pictures re-posted, the one of Beans, Roy, Lew and myself on our deck out at Sturgeon lake brought back a lot of wonderful memories.

Hopefully Roy's health gets better and he can get out fishing.
