Modis satellite view from yesterday. You can see the west side of Lake Simcoe is clearing as well as large spots on Scugog.

You can see the latest satellite shots here....some days are cloudy and you don't see much but the clear days have awesome shots.

i think you will find that simoce ice is turning that colour and is porous and full of water, but intact, or I was walking on water yesterday,.......................... hmmm might explain a few things .........lol

Here are a couple updates for everyone as of April 1st

Algonquin Park North 27" - 30 "

Algonquin Park South 25" - 27"

Burks Falls Area 25" - 28"

Parry Sound (inland) 20" - 24"

 

This info. is from various sources of mine and not first hand accounts .

Still lots of winter left in the north !

Wednesday.. before the 19 degree Thursday..

 

 

Those docks look to be secure there Wayne. Have you seen the one that was out and about?

 

The bay here is very grey. You can see the 3 transitions of freeze up very clearly from the shore.

 

I,ll bet I,ll be perching from the toon by the end of the month.

 

Would like to be crappie fishing by then on another lake though.

And yes, an angler out in the 70-80 fow . Maybe the blaze orange tuque is so they can see him bobbing.
