Jonny Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I live in the same community you do, Randy. It's good to know that there are such good people around. My condolences on the passing of your friend.
SlowPoke Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Some call it a bad day but think of it this way; You were able to be at your friends side when he needed you most and you able to protect a stranger when she needed you most. It says a lot about a man. Pretty good day in my opinion.
Big Cliff Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 You were there when a friend needed you most! You saved another man's life, and you prevented a person you didn't even know from being beaten by some jerk. Any one of those things would make it a trying day for me. I am so sorry for the loss of your friend but happy to hear that he had someone like you by his side when it was his time to leave. His body may be gone but his spirit will be with you for the rest of your life. Congratulations on saving one if not two more lives that very same day. I am really looking forward to meeting you some day soon. I'd like to buy you a beer!
Spiel Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Indeed a very trying day Randy but you can be proud that you faced it with both compassion and courage! My condolences on the loss of your friend.
Dano Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Good work on the wife beater.
Cookslav Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 It was obvioulsy not an ejoyable day, but one you should be proud of. You were there for a freind, saved a life, and were a hero all in one day. Thats the stuff movies are made of and you just earned every beer you've had, and will have.. Hats off to you sir.
wallyboss Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I literally picked him up and bodyslammed him onto the street and dragged him to the shoulder of Coursol Rd .I said/roared " Stay the down or I'll make ya stay the down It's your choice Man!" He had no clue what kind of mood I was in or what had just hit him for that matter. The police were there in less that 15 seconds.. The cops didn't show up for 15 seconds, you had lots of time for a few head shots. Sounds like you had a rough day. hope you have better ones soon. Dan
TroutnMuskieHunter Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Sorry to hear about the loss of your buddy Randy.....Good on you bud for "takin' care of business" with that poor excuse of a man you body slammed ....I would have done the same thing!!

highdrifter Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I'm sure you've earned your stars countless other times bud, but today is YOUR day. It's truly sad you that you lost your ol pal, but you saved another, perhaps even two. That's gotta be an incredible feeling. Betcha that brew tasted real good!! Tu l'a mérité cette bièrre là. T'en mérite un caisse mon homme. cheers HD
doubleheader Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Randy, one can only hope when it's our turn we have someone at our side with the compassion that you showed your firend. I'm sorry for your loss but thank you for your post. It was a comforting reminder to me that in the midst of this crazy world there are still a lot of wonderful caring people. Take care.
LeXXington Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 You are truely a compasionate person. Thanks
Muskieman Posted March 12, 2010 Author Report Posted March 12, 2010 There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.' One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend. He asked her,'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him. Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.' This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations. Life Is a Gift Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak. Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat... Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion. Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.. Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet. And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job. And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.. My brother sent me this as an E-Mail after I told him my story. Thanks again guys!!!!!! RFS

irishfield Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 my sentiments exactly Lew. Yep.. and as a daily reminder I work in the shop with my fathers' wrist watch on.. using my sister's tape measure and steel rule, while I build airplane parts.... as I view my Mother's picture on the wall, holding the first and last Lake Trout that she ever caught!
