mikeh Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 the Habs seem to play a simple game, put a man in front of the net and fire away, seems to work for them. I hope the nhl eliminates the automatic penalty when a player's stick breaks into three pieces, after another player tries to knock the stick out of their hands. hockey sticks get a lot of hard use during a game and just a little tap and they seem to break. Imagine that happening in the Stanley Cup Final?

mikeh Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Pretty strong rumors Duchene may be an Ottawa Senator soon. Hopefully they don't sell the farm for him Duchene and a second round pick for Karlsson? sounds fair
muskymatt Posted February 26, 2017 Report Posted February 26, 2017 Duchene and a second round pick for Karlsson? sounds fair Karlsson is not on the trading block, you would have to be insane to trade him.

DRIFTER_016 Posted February 27, 2017 Author Report Posted February 27, 2017 WOW!!! I wouldn't have thought the Leafs would be buyers this year but with our injuries up front I guess they are. Boyle from Tampa for Froese and a conditional pick. http://www.tsn.ca/lightning-leafs-finalizing-boyle-trade-1.682479
AKRISONER Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 this is a good deal, and i dont see this as a rental acquisition, i see them signing him longer term. Hes only 32, has a whack of experience and is one of the best 4th line centres in the league.

Good on Lou !!!!

AKRISONER Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 Not sure I understand this move. Does this mean Bozak is gone next year? bozak isnt a 4th line centre?
grimsbylander Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 (edited) My guess is...expect another move within 24 hours. Edited February 27, 2017 by grimsbylander
Acountdeleted Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 bozak isnt a 4th line centre? They were saying Boyle can play 3rd line centre as well.

Raf Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 i woulda been happy if the leafs were sellers but what do i know. 2nd round pick + froese for a 32 year old 3/4th line center who is a UFA doesn't make much sense to this armchair GM.
chris.brock Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) My guess is...expect another move within 24 hours. That's the only way this would somewhat make sense to me. I have faith (well, maybe hope) in the new management guys and their plan. Edited February 28, 2017 by chris.brock

leaf4 Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 I think they sign him at a cost effective salary, and he can be a boon for all the young guys to learn from, as well as bringing all that playoff experience... This year's draft is considered a weak one, so the leafs giving up a second rounder, when they still have 2 others really isn't that much, and Froese... Well it's safe to assume he won't be anything special
