grimsbylander Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 to be honest, I don't think AM can sustain the 4 to 5 goals per game pace, realistically I see him finishing the season with a mere 200 goals Safe assumption.
knightfisher Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Wow, AM secures his spot in the Hockey hall of fame in his first game.
Headhunter Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Sen's season opener was not sold out. I have to wonder if Ottawa's team might be in trouble. HH
lookinforwalleye Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 1st player in NHL history to get 4 goals in his first game...FYI hes a Leaf....YEAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! Too bad he is not a goalie....
Oggie Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Hope that was the worst game Anderson plays in nets this year! Five year contract for $25 million.
AKRISONER Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Hope that was the worst game Anderson plays in nets this year! Five year contract for $25 million. relaxxxxx the guy missed the entire pre-season due to an injury. He is going to be fine.
tb4me Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 Too bad he is not a goalie.... Hey you better be careful.. after the Habs chased Suban out of town, Price could be next...lol
Oggie Posted October 13, 2016 Report Posted October 13, 2016 I know it's early Ak but everyone else was on a short contract leash with the Leafs eg. Kadri one year. Why give this guy a 5 year contract? I'm not saying he's not worth it or that he's not a good goalie. It's too early to tell. It's just not in keeping with the "every game is a tryout" philosophy of the Leafs since the rebuild started.
BillM Posted October 14, 2016 Report Posted October 14, 2016 (edited) Yeah the goalie deal was a bit out of character. I hope it pays off. I realize everyone is talking about Matthews, but did anyone see the game Marner had? Sheesh that kid is awesome! Edited October 14, 2016 by BillM
leaf4 Posted October 14, 2016 Report Posted October 14, 2016 Nobody has said a word about Nylander either, 2 assists!
lowerunit Posted October 14, 2016 Report Posted October 14, 2016 I think they signed Kadri to a five year deal and Morgan Reily to a six year deal this summer...and Anderson did play in the preseason and didnt look great hope he works out the kinks hate to see another goaltending problem here.
DRIFTER_016 Posted October 14, 2016 Author Report Posted October 14, 2016 Should be really interesting for tomorrow night's home opener. https://www.nhl.com/mapleleafs/news/deadmau5-collaborates-with-maple-leafs-on-new-track/c-282656468
lookinforwalleye Posted October 14, 2016 Report Posted October 14, 2016 Hey you better be careful.. after the Habs chased Suban out of town, Price could be next...lol Rielly,Matthews,Marner and a first...and you got a deal.....
leaf4 Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 Rielly,Matthews,Marner and a first...and you got a deal..... Lou would give up none of them! The man is a miracle worker... The sens took phaneuf from us and we didn't retain any salary!
John Bacon Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 Rielly,Matthews,Marner and a first...and you got a deal..... Isn't he a UFA after next year? We won't have to give you anything for him.
manitoubass2 Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 Id be shocked if price left. Then id clap
Old Ironmaker Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 I have been following this thread for a while. I need a book called " NHL for Dummies". I can name a few players in the league and maybe 1 Leaf. Cadri ? Other than a few super stars I don't recognize these guys you are talking about. I want to be able to join in the conversation because it seems no one on this board follow NFL or CFL Football as closely as MLB and the NHL. How does it look for T.O.? Is this the year they might make a playoff run? What teams are favored to take it all this year? Is this #1 draft pick for the Leafs going to make a difference like some other #1's have recently? Mc David was last year, right?

Mc David was last year, right? I hope personally they don't make the playoffs for the next two seasons at least, they need to continue to add to depth with their D. Matthews... Well he scored 4 goals in his first NHL game so I think it's a safe assumption he's a difference maker, and he's surrounded with other smart hockey players like marner and Nylander who can make plays as well as score so the future is bright! I think Pittsburgh is favored to win it all though I don't remember if they changed that since Crosby got another concussion last week
tb4me Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 Connor Brown and Marner both get goals.. Way to go kids....
DRIFTER_016 Posted October 16, 2016 Author Report Posted October 16, 2016 I think Marner is going to be huge!!! The kids got skillz!!!!
dave524 Posted October 16, 2016 Report Posted October 16, 2016 (edited) I think they are going overboard on this number retiring. Hell, growing up your number one goalie was number 1 and your backup was 29 or 30 maybe 31 and everyone else had a number from 2 to 28. Half the traditional numbers from the original six days are retired now on the Leafs edit; think this football number trend started with that Gretzky kid Edited October 16, 2016 by dave524

Imagine how many will be left another 100 years from now..

They have honoured several; but they have not retired any of them. Edited October 16, 2016 by JohnBacon
