  1. Having said that the only thing that I have noticed is that some of the perch seem to be sterrile? No eggs no sperm? Big and small? So I brought this up with another friend and he said they were probably spawned out? Mid Feburary?I dont think so. Any thoughts? Don. I have seen that on a regular basis over the years, no a lot but maybe 1 perch in100 or so that had no eggs or sperm, fish could be small- 5-6 inch all the way up to a jumbo 12inch. Maybe just misfits in nature..
  2. Well just a look at the loogans smile would seem to set the level of caring for the equipment. Not much more than kids driving a rocket.
  3. Read and weep. http://www.owensoundsuntimes.com/2013/03/11/new-native-commercial-fishing-agreement
  4. Ya, saw the Herc this morning, they did a para drop around 10:30.
  5. Pretty much the same for me, went out yesterday at Inisfil, from 35-90 feet, about a total of 5 dinks, about a good 18 inches of solid ice. Went to Barrie this morning by the fountain, 28 guys out there, nothing but a couple dinks. Moved over to Minets, same same. Ice is about 12-14 inches with some crusty stuff on top. Fuddle duddle, I'm going to Johnnys to get some fish..
  6. Someone I know said the same, he got 3 keepers yesterday and lots of dinks.
  7. I don't think augers make good bottom structure.
  8. Ya, there's more coming on sale tuesday that have the info on them.
  9. I'm going to have to say that "someone told me" that the safety/breaking strength of the straps has to be marked somewhere on the hardware. "Apparantely" when MTO checks, they can bone you for having inadequate tie downs. That also goes for the safety chains on trailers. Don't shoot the messenger. Found it: Use of Unmarked Tie-Downs The cargo-securement standards do not allow the use of a tie-down, or component of a tie-down, to secure cargo to a vehicle unless it is marked by the manufacturer with respect to its working load limit.
  10. We had one stop by yesterday morning at Innisfil, I don't think he spent more than 45 seconds with us, peek into the hut, saw two licences, wished us luck and off he went. And polite to boot.
  11. I saw one of those scenarios last week on Simcoe, buddy on a sled going about 100 with portable hut in tow. It spent most the of the time in the air after hitting bumps and throwing stuff out. Too bad so sad.
  12. Either that's a short legged birdfeeder or you have pile of snow, nice bird.
  13. Yes, I have been in every province from BC to QC in the winter months, snow tires/winter tires definitely aid in the control of a vehicle. If you white knuckle the steering wheel because of road conditions, take a cab.
  14. Haha, I'll have to wait on the verdict. Where we camp it's "no shore power" and even on most all RV/trailer websites, No Shore Power means you're "boondocking" or no commercial power available.
  15. He said there's no shore power..a.k.a. commercial hydro.
  16. The dual fuel models have a different generator unit which allows the use of unleaded and naphtha. Red tanks can only use naphtha.
  17. Are you talking deep cycle for your trailer or your boat? For your trailer 2- 15 watt panels will put enough back in during the week when you're not there, for your boat, genny is the answer, or take them home.
  18. That particular model looks like the dual fuel one. You can use regular unleaded in them. I have the same larger one and 2 dual fuel lanterns, both work on unleaded, NO Kerosene.
  19. Many would believe you but I'll bet the guy driving the roof rack bubble gum machine doesn't..Once upon a time I got a guy that had been expired for about 6-7 years. He said he paid for the plates when the car was new...
  20. I guess when you sell quality you don't need as many dealers to fix them.
  21. Hull VIN numbers are usually stamped into the upper right rear outside corner, check there.
  22. Get a couple of pieces of 1inch thick pink styrofoam, they go on the ice first, then the 4x4 or 2x4 blocks. The styrofoam is the heat break, it really slows down the sinking process. In case you're worried that it will compress, it doesn't unless your hut weighs a ton.
