  1. Well that's some great info that I'll definitely store away. I've got a shallow sandpoint for lawn watering, so far so good.
  2. Honda, hands down and it should have no problem running a 5K A/C.
  3. Holes next to the prop are not "pee" holes but drain holes if the interior of the leg has water in it. The water goes in at the intake, up through the impellor to the engine and cooling ports and out either the "pee" hole and/or the exhaust. Some models have a small exhaust port above the water line. Some engines take longer to warm up, depends on the temperature of the lake water or the cold water from your hose. Low hose water pressure shouldn't matter too much, it's the impellor pump that provides the pressure to get the water up to the motor. After all in the lake, there's no water pressure.
  4. Every thermostatically controlled engine has a bypass. It stays closed until it reaches the prescribed temperature and then opens for extra cooling. How do you thin you get heat in your car/truck, the bypass is the heater core, once the temp is up, then it also flows through the radiator.
  5. I'd avoid Craigleith also, if you want to be a sardine for the weekend, that's the place to be. Along with being situated right along highway 26, no thanks.
  6. If it only runs with the choke on, it needs a carb cleaning, some of the passages/jet are likely clogged up a bit. Most of the time all motors must be in the water to cover the cavitation plate for the impellor to push the water up. If there's no water coming out of the pee hole or exhaust, most likely need a new impellor. Good luck.
  7. Imagine yourself stumping around like that, if you have the means, speed up the process and put the poor hopper out of its misery.
  8. Well when you eat and drink stuff the body isn't designed for..nuff said.
  9. Didn't you just write this yesterday.."2 things I never ask for or give on the Internet, medical or legal advice"..
  10. I'm sure it all depends on the type of road and municipality. Highway road allowance would be larger than the simple 2 lane country road. What kind are you looking at.
  11. Man o man, a lot of people hear a lot of things without comprehending, and a lot are gullible.
  12. Does it give you warning when it's going to blow up..hopefully before the event..
  13. Lets try the photos: Photo 1, held onto the frame by 2x3" "U" bolts, yours will be bigger. Photo 2, mine are the 2 x 9" rollers with 1/2" rod, there are press fit washers top and bottom so the rod can't come out. The rubber rollers actually roll so there's no scrapping the boat. I would guess yours may have to be double height..bigger boat. Have mig welder, make projects. Any questions, let me know, cheers.
  14. I also made my own, Princess Auto has rubber rollers, 9 inch or 12 inch long so you can stack them in height. They take either a 1/2 or 5/8 shaft or rod. I used 1/8th 1 x 2 inch tubing, made the angle to match the boat hull. I'll see if I can grab a couple photos for ya.
  15. After you check this, you might want to hitch hike. http://www.motorhometravel.com/en/rental-rates.php
  16. No maintenance over the winter eh..better pay attention, batteries are like women and don't like to be neglected..for any period of time..The likelyhood of coming back from 1.4 volts is pretty remote.
  17. Although it's "not right" for those that don't have internet capability, paper does cost. I'm betting that most of us fish particular areas and don't need 3/4 of the booklet at best. Most of the time I check on the on line version along with any updates, take a few notes if there are slot sizes or something particular to pay attention to.
  18. Any small 12 Volt 7 or 9 amp gell cell will do just fine for a couple days, remember to recharge after each use.
  19. Well now you have a rotten lower level deck.
  20. They're cute little buggers when they are playing.. real nice pictures.
  21. Far as I know they are actually 2 stoke diesels.
  22. What does a primer bulb do? Primer bulbs siphon gas from the tank to the motor and prevent it running back when the motor is not running. The primer bulb has 2 rubber flap valves in it, it doesn't have to stay hard to keep the engine running. Motors have a fuel pump that keeps the gas coming once it's running. The only reason there's a primer bulb is that most if not all tanks are below the carb level of the motor, it's just an assist to the motor fuel pump. If tanks were at carb level or above, such as gravity flow then a primer wouldn't be needed. You may have crud floating around in the main jet clogging the system, a sticky float or even bad plugs that won't fire while hot.
