Unless you are going to be in the area anyways any savings would be eaten up by gas money. That being said Fishing World and most others may match any advertised price you can find within a reasonable drive. I've also found that Crappy tire has great clearance sales at the end of the season...
I found a similar sized school of crappie a couple of days ago...stacked together in 4 feet or less...must have been the warm water of the shallows.....
We had a 3.5 hp that had the gas tank built right in....an easy carry on the shoulder....any lake with a good trail is not one thats usually worth fishing...It's the ones with a trail a donkey wouldn't travel that produce the best fishing.....
I remember fishing Quinte during it's heyday before zebra mussels cleared the water....Mohawk Bay ,drifting in 7 feet of water over the sand and mud flats catching fish after fish....With high gas prices now, I stay closer to home and fish the grand...
What is the battery life? Even with moderate use the batteries age and lose the ability to hold a charge over the course of 5 years. New ones could be very expensive but then again since it's a Toyota the quality is excellent..
Thats how I got started with ice fishing...just remember though, if you must chop with an axe do it away from other fishermen....nothing more irritating than thump,thump,thump......
When you take the picture you could compose it in a way as to hide and shoreline features. The photo taker could stand while the person with the fish kneels down on the ice....
Trace makes a nice inverter...I would go with a 24 volt system thats good for 3000 watts....If you plan on living off the grid, a small wind generator would give you a boost in the winter when you only get a few peak hours of charging. A digital charge controller would also help.
My cottage had no hydro lines so I installed a solar system. I used collected rain water and a 12 volt on demand pump for water that was heated with propane. A propane fridge and stove and a woodstove for heat made it feel like we had hydro hooked up. Oh yea.....a composting toilet made trips to the outhouse just a memory....
I wouldn't read too much into it. A lot of landlords have apartments that are considered "not legal" because of all the crap you have to go through for it to be legal and conforming. The open wifi is either a convenience thing or just laziness on his part. I don't think anyone can break into your computer if your virus and spyware is up to date...
The Helly Hanson is comfortable....The alfa model has internal suspenders so you can remove the top section to cool off without taking the whole outfit off....
