  1. I just watched a show about money with Brian Cox.. my wife and I enjoyed it so she may actually sit and watch this with me since he's in it..
  2. Sweet corn I'd being planted near Windsor.. that's a month early
  3. The Atlantic hotel in New Brunswick has a basement under the whole lenght of it and we could hear someone down there.. 😅.. plus the sink for the bathroom wasn't even in the bathroom..
  4. Supposed to be 19 in Hamilton today and almostas warm tomorrow.. cooler if you're close to the lake..
  5. Maple syrup season is pretty much done in the south of the province and I haven't ice fished in years now.. the buds on the fruit trees could be vulnerable to frost damage if they open prematurely and we get a cold snap..
  6. I fish lakes along the King horn road in Greenstone. Unfortunately, one side of the road is 7 and the other 6 and we have had to switch to artificials due to the difficulty of obtaining live bait since we aren't even supposed to trap our own... outfitters are few and far between..
  7. The native stations near six nations get their gas from the Nanticoke refinery through various wholesalers. One is original traders energy which blends their own fuel on the reserve. I'm not sure if they add ethanol themselves or not. It could come from the refinery already blended in for all I know.. the attendants don't always know if you ask them either...OTE fuel has a bit of a different smell and colour than others but I'm not sure why..
  8. My cousin lives right in Yellowknife and hes been evacuated to Alberta.. I remember talk of a sprinkler system on the cabin roof if I'm not mistaken.. hopefully Dave has this in place..
  9. I just took a carb apart from my log splitter and it actually had rusty parts inside. The ethanol in gas is going to cause a lot more of these issues.. you may be able to get it to run better with seafoam but I'm betting that the carb will need a more thorough cleaning.. I use simple green (the purple stuff only) and it is fantastic for de-greasing and cleaning carbs.. even better if used in conjunction with an ultrasonic unit
  10. They're spoiled now.. from now on every fishing trip they take will be compared to this one.. 😄
  11. I replaced a bad capacitor on a Samsung and it lasted a few more years. My next one also had a problem at 18 months old and I had to spend $300+ on a new motherboard.. my LG fridge had a compressor failure at 18 months. I had ordered a maytag but was informed that it was not available a couple of weeks later. They offered an upgraded LG for the same price so I took it.. I wish we had stronger lemon protection laws but since our economy relys on consumerism there is no desire for that
  12. My daughter uses a hepa room filter because she has a rabbit and her dog in there at night with the door closed. It has helped with her allergies and the white noise of the fan helps her sleep..
  13. Up north they patch with a piece of aluminum fastened with bolts and sealed with silicone.. sometimes a stashed boat would be poked full of holes with an axe because the outfitters hated people fishing their Hotspot..
  14. This is all sounding like a "you know you're getting old when...." story. I totally get it because stuff like this is so relatable to me now.. 😁
  15. Lol.. the fish are going to love the sparkle on a sunny day
  16. My buddy lives on a hwy that always seems to have stranded boaters with bad bearings. He isn't the only house but they seem to see his place as somewhere to get help. Boat trailer bearings are dunked in water and they really should be checked when you winterize to avoid wrecking them completely.. rear seals can't be re-used either..
  17. At this time of year the rain is good but usually a wet spring is followed by a dry summer..
  18. The Brodie flour mix is basically the same.. you can just add beer and then mix it..
  19. Mr. AL.. lol.. it was a good night.. I just wished I had entered my bookie.. won't happen again 😁
  20. Nice rod.. she's a good kid Chris and I'm sure she will appreciate it greatly..
  21. I love provincial parks but they are crowded these days. I'd rather spend an extra few hours driving to a park where it's peaceful and the fishing is good.. Haliburton Forest might be a decent option
  22. Been involved with a conservation group for over 25 years. We started out raising and releasing pheasants for the township hunt, then morphed into fish netting surveys, planting water plants (30,000 of them),planted thousands of trees, fishing derbies, bluebird nest boxes, trail building, benches, shoreline erosion, and dozens more projects. We will be building a swallow nesting structure on a 40 acre property that was reclaimed farmland. This is kind of a signature site for us and 3400 shrubs and almost 4000 trees later we just have to remove some fencing and it will be finished. I am not sure how long we will be keeping it going because of the age of the volunteers involved and most of what needed to be done has been completed. The fish population at the Binbrook conservation area has crashed and we will be pressing the Niagara Conservation Authority to study the issue but they have limited resources and a lot of internal turmoil to deal with..
  23. The ramp at old cut in Long Point bay is open and there was a boat in the channels on Wednesday. I can't imagine that he went out on the bay in the wind.. it may be a busy place this weekend..
