Costco in Ancaster sells propane by quantity(per litre) which should work out to be $2.50 to $3.00 for a 5lb tank...finding a tank that size at a reasonable price is another thing....
Over 11000 murders and something like 30000 overall gun deaths(suicide, shot by cop, self defence, accidents) in the US..... Its more than just the issue of the tool that does the deed...why is life so undervalued????
The MNR budget seems to be an easy target for the Toronto centric politicians. I wish they took it more seriously but they have nothing to lose by cutting the $$$. We as anglers need to be more vocal with mpp's as we are often portrayed as a nuicance rather than a benefit. Policy seems to be based on cost, not what's best for the fishery....
Rob Ford is the mayor of a city with 2.6 million people and thousands of employees. Spence is chief of 300 or so members!!! Plus she has band council members(21?).... Maybe her pay should be cut to jus a few hundred bucks and Ford should get a big raise.....
I have a feeling this will get violent like Caledonia. Those that didn't live near it have no idea what really happened. I predict they will take Algonquin like they did ipperwash P.P. .....
The government wants to make it easier to develop the ring of fire and other big projects like mega quarries without red tape. Good for big corporations but bad for everything else. Must be some serious lobbying going on.....
No sick days or personal days where I work.... Haven't taken a sick day in 10 years... We don't get paid for them and they want a doctors note... Even with a note it's not always believed...especially Christmas day and new years...lol..<br />
Over 20 years as a member of the Glanbrook Conservation Committee...fish and wildlife habitat, trail work, fishing derbies, bluebird houses etc, etc.....
They bought the land from farmers who assumed they were only going to farm it. The quarry would have been very deep so the constant pumping would have lowered the water table enough to dry up wells and possibly ruined the headwaters of the credit......this is all old news....the US investors cared little about all the negative environmental stuff.....its all about profit$$$$$
Kind of ironic that the native was using a bow while the non native used a rifle. I'm ok with trditional hunting rights as longf as traditional methods are used. I really don't think it was intentional. Did the bowhunter have a set of rattling antlers?. Was the scope a cheapie or was drinking involved??? Let's hope the truth comes out so it doesn't happen again.....
Sounds as if he was using a 270 Weatherby....probably saw something through the scope and fired from the comfort of his truck. Not something that would be frowned on at six nations....
Loon Lake has muskie as well. As for Kinmount, you can boat up to 3 Brothers Falls for smaller ones. Some of the locals blame them for ruining the walleye fishing so they often get thrown up on shore. Just don't touch land for a pee. The inbreds that own the 1000 acres around there will come after you.....
I like to slowly swim a jig towards me through the deeper sections...ticking the bottom will get you into the fish zone. If you snag up and can't get it out, let a bunch of line go downstream and give the rod a sharp snap to free it. I only use crank baits while in the boat....
In two trips that I took in the last month I got 1 walleye-17 inch. I only fished for about 2 hours each time. It does seem to be slower this year but with such low water levels their hiding spots may have changed a bit. I would say my drop in success is more due to me not looking for more productive fishing spots rather than a collapse of the fishery. It could also be a down cycle in the numbers??.. As for water level readings, check the Grand river conservation authority website for water flow readings in real time. If you do this each time before you go out you get to know when its not safe...this is especially important in the colder temps.....
