    BRUTAL

My 9 year old gave ME the big hug when I got home from work. She saw a bit of it on TV.......
  2. Go to the store and buy what? Farmed fish is almost toxic to eat and pretty much anything else is depleted in the wild....
  3. Over 20 years as a member of the Glanbrook Conservation Committee...fish and wildlife habitat, trail work, fishing derbies, bluebird houses etc, etc.....
  4. I have an older HT 1 man flip. Still in great shape and not bad to pull....maybe the new ones went the way of the clam..cheap..
  5. They bought the land from farmers who assumed they were only going to farm it. The quarry would have been very deep so the constant pumping would have lowered the water table enough to dry up wells and possibly ruined the headwaters of the credit......this is all old news....the US investors cared little about all the negative environmental stuff.....its all about profit$$$$$
  6. Yes, you're right!!! Wrote it while very sleepy...lol
  7. Kind of ironic that the native was using a bow while the non native used a rifle. I'm ok with trditional hunting rights as longf as traditional methods are used. I really don't think it was intentional. Did the bowhunter have a set of rattling antlers?. Was the scope a cheapie or was drinking involved??? Let's hope the truth comes out so it doesn't happen again.....
  8. Sounds as if he was using a 270 Weatherby....probably saw something through the scope and fired from the comfort of his truck. Not something that would be frowned on at six nations....
  9. Loon Lake has muskie as well. As for Kinmount, you can boat up to 3 Brothers Falls for smaller ones. Some of the locals blame them for ruining the walleye fishing so they often get thrown up on shore. Just don't touch land for a pee. The inbreds that own the 1000 acres around there will come after you.....
  10. I like to slowly swim a jig towards me through the deeper sections...ticking the bottom will get you into the fish zone. If you snag up and can't get it out, let a bunch of line go downstream and give the rod a sharp snap to free it. I only use crank baits while in the boat....
  11. In two trips that I took in the last month I got 1 walleye-17 inch. I only fished for about 2 hours each time. It does seem to be slower this year but with such low water levels their hiding spots may have changed a bit. I would say my drop in success is more due to me not looking for more productive fishing spots rather than a collapse of the fishery. It could also be a down cycle in the numbers??.. As for water level readings, check the Grand river conservation authority website for water flow readings in real time. If you do this each time before you go out you get to know when its not safe...this is especially important in the colder temps.....
  12. I am working three 12hr night shifts this weekend....still thankful to see the wife and daughter for a couple of hours here and there.....
  13. We send these boys to a far off land to fight a war we probably shouldn't be involved in.... It means much more that it's a grass roots kind of thing and not done by the government.....
  14. I love grouse but usually pass on the spruce...don't love the darker meat(taste and texture).....
  15. I guess it depends on how many people have accessed the are through the summer which would tend to open the trail somewhat. The lodge owners up there are famous for sending in fishermen if there's a mere mention of a few being caught... If you are on foot the trails a truck can't get down would be the first ones I would try but then again the bow hunters as well as bird and bear guys have been down anything passable...either way you will have some interesting driving......
  16. 21a.. Busy place during the gun hunt...lots of "road hunters".. Going up there next year...Bow only... Can't offer you any info on locations though..good luck..
  17. And good company at the legion......
  18. Pike are great to eat provided you can get rid of the bones.....
  19. Pool halls can be trouble...
  20. Does the fish have a good case here???
  21. Too late...the cats out of the bag.... :-)
  22. Geeze..I have to get with the times....good info but I might need a 3rd job to pay for it all...
  23. Its a beauty shot...I wish I could bring my camera into the plant....So many impressive shots to take....
  24. How about blaming the dumbasses who break the bottles? Glass can be reused many times while aluminum only once. Its very energy intensive to make cans as well..The union comment is just plain stupid....
  25. I believe in the future, many lakes will only be open to substinance fishermen...you know, so they can fish for their families...with a few thousand pounds to sell to us guys who are no longer allowed to fish there.....
