At least someone is getting precipitation of some kind...we need rain in the worst way...streams are at summer levels already and the fields are dry and cracked.

Working the coke oven battery here in the hammer...26c....30 with the humidity...but since we work on a giant oven it feels well into the 40's...the winds out on the harbour look brutal...huge whitecaps..too bad we don't feel much of the wind due to the direction its coming from...

Acme battery in Hamilton should have them for less than 50 bucks....

The big west wind is coming in just in time for my days off.....I guess I'll hvae to sit and talk about fishin like you guys did.....lol

You can start to fight them by getting rid of their credit cards if you have one....I've never figured out why people would buy gas that's 2-3 cents more at esso when the station across the road sells for cheaper....unless they have an esso card....at anywhere from 18-29 percent interest!!!

Very nice.......18 more years in this hell hole and I can retire too Spiel......but how does dave find time off from fishing to visit anyone????

Appliances didn't seem to have as many problems when they we're designed and built here......the prices may have dropped on them but you have to buy new ones more frequently...not saving much in the end....

My post was moved when I let everyone in on some good deals for an online auction...perhaps because some of the mods don't like the retailer I mentioned....I DID end up with a Marcum Lx 5 for $300 taxes in....

The launch in Port Maitland can be tricky if there are waves coming in from the lake...On a calm day you're good but it's a bit of a run to the cat fishing areas...

I have a 14 footer.. stable boat and the quality is good as well. No problems with leaks at all...

The prices seem a little high for an "off brand"....but then again Canadian Tire usually has good sales which would make it a better deal.

Unless you are going to be in the area anyways any savings would be eaten up by gas money. That being said Fishing World and most others may match any advertised price you can find within a reasonable drive. I've also found that Crappy tire has great clearance sales at the end of the season...

I found a similar sized school of crappie a couple of days ago...stacked together in 4 feet or less...must have been the warm water of the shallows.....

We had a 3.5 hp that had the gas tank built right in....an easy carry on the shoulder....any lake with a good trail is not one thats usually worth fishing...It's the ones with a trail a donkey wouldn't travel that produce the best fishing.....

I work for US Steel..anyone who has had dealings with these people will understand what I mean....nothing nice to say here..

I remember fishing Quinte during it's heyday before zebra mussels cleared the water....Mohawk Bay ,drifting in 7 feet of water over the sand and mud flats catching fish after fish....With high gas prices now, I stay closer to home and fish the grand...

Quinte for sure...and if ya have to go to the washroom, just jump from boat to boat till you hit shore..

Thats why I went and got a PVR....too complicated with the vcr....or maybe it's cause I'm over 40...

The best therapy for your troubles is fishing as far as I'm concerned....It beats all else....

Some of us worked all weekend so this change is a good thing for us.....A small win for shiftworkers...
