SirCranksalot Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 Not sure they were teens, but worth a try anyway. Need throw someone in th clink at least overnight just to drive the point home, IMO.
camillj Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 Just got this notice from the Quebec folks (we have a camp in a Zec) ...its gonna be a LONG spring "The directive from the Public Health Department is simple: Stay at home! Despite the fact that your members have a trailer, a cabin, a fishing license, a fishing or hunting package, an annual right of movement and that the public territory remains open, the public health directive is the priority and takes precedence over all law, permit or right of zec. Stay home! Camping is not authorized and organizations must inform their members and customers that the facilities are closed by order of the Public Health Department. The same directive applies to the rental of chalets, yurts and other ready-to-camp packages. Going fishing is not an activity that can justify the interruption of containment. People can leave their homes out of necessity, in an emergency or through force majeure. Spread the word to your members: Stay home!"
camillj Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 Crap ... its always something .... sooo ... as much as it saddens me ... I wasnt going to go up to the cottage (respecting our stay at home policy ... even if it is in fact our summer home) ... but the neighbor just sent me these pics ... now I'm afraid if I don't go ... it could be raining inside ... or worse 1
camillj Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 And of course the roof is barely 1 season old
lew Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 Lousy luck Jon, hope there's no serious damage to your place.
Big Cliff Posted April 2, 2020 Report Posted April 2, 2020 I would think that the potential for damage could constitute an emergency. Is there someone there that you could call to asses the risk? 1
SirCranksalot Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 I think you have good reason to make the drive. "Minimize" is a more useful word than "eliminate"
chris.brock Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 my parents are elderly, my grandma is really elderly, if there is any problems with them I swear I will be arrested for getting in trudeaus face, I’d love to smash his face right now, he’s a spineless pos 5 1
SirCranksalot Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Can we please leave politics out of this. 1
misfish Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 So 16 test results sent to people saying they were negative, yet they were positive . That is not good. 1
mamona Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Plus Ontario number of tests done is the lowest in the Canada. Not even comparing to other countries.
mamona Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 (edited) Ontario lags behind all other provinces in COVID-19 testing https://globalnews.ca/news/6752239/coronavirus-ontario-behind-covid-19-testing/ Edited April 3, 2020 by mamona
SirCranksalot Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Note the wording 'confirmed cases'. If someone is at home with mild symptoms they are unlikely to go to the hospital. I think the 'iceberg principle' applies here. 1
mamona Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Agreed. All those stats showing Canada doing not bad is because we actually have not enough data.
mamona Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Gets better, Trump asks medical supply firm 3M to stop selling N95 respirators to Canada https://globalnews.ca/news/6772979/coronavirus-3m-n95-respirators-trump-canada/?utm_source=notification/ Ok, enough news for me today 1
Terry Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Let’s hope our government stops all shipments of medical products to the USA shows who our friends are and who in the future we have to protect ourselves from learning a lot from this pandemic

cisco Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Amazon seems to have Trudeau on side to 'shine' its image after being exposed for making warehouse workers in Manhattan keep working after one got the virus and managers refused to clean/isolate contacted staff. A whistle blower got fired as result and social media went nuts over it. Soooo Jeff Bazose the billionaire Amazon owner today announced he's giving $100. million to the virus effort. This IMO to keep workers from walking off the job everywhere. Trudeau made a point today to say how Amazon and the Cndn gov't made a 'deal' to distribute needed supplies. Bazose could have said he's firing the bad managers and getting workers protection gear and proper cleaning/safety protocol but nooooo. All PR with Trudeau working to protect the Amazon image here. By the way MSM doesn't seem to carry the growing wildcat strikes going on as workers are feeling overworked, under paid and under protected in many places.

There are a lot of half truths and misinformation going around these days. Amazon denied Smalls' accusations, saying it fired him for repeatedly "violating social distancing guidelines and putting the safety of others at risk" after it asked him to stay home on paid sick leave after he came into "close contact with a diagnosed associate with a confirmed case of COVID-19," https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-fires-warehouse-worker-led-strike-protest-covid19-cornavirus-response-2020-3 In these days of wild tort claims no company especially one as large as Amazon fires anyone for reasons that they can't back up. 1

Terry Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Let’s hope he didn’t and we can get back to normal what ever normal is. LOL
