Rod Caster Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 It's really coming down just outside of North Bay. We have nearly 1.5 feet on the ground right now. Roads are brutal. Any body else getting dumped on? This won't help in the making of the first few inches of ice. With the very high water this falland all this snow, it's going to be one of those years where extra care will be needed when venturing onto lakes with little to no traffic.

I've pointed the big fan Northward, keep your snow, we had about a foot here on Friday. Fortunately most has packed down to about 4 inches now.
Rod Caster Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 Just wait until we retaliate with a huge air conditioner and give you a week of -40!
irishfield Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 I've been plowing since Thursday.... time to move to Arizona !
motv8tr Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 I don't want anymore until Thurs, that's when I get the winter tires, almost got stuck going to work on Fri. really don't need to do that again Maureen
Rod Caster Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 Winter-tire time sneaks up quick eh! I got the winters/studs on my wife's car JUST in time. Our dirt roads are the worst I've seen them.
Terry Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 guess I need to put gas in the new snowblower..damn not ready for winter yet me not the blower
chris.brock Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 Hopefully the Tundra is gased up and ready to ride, post some pics
lew Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 We're just getting our 1st dusting of snow now but I put the winter tires on the truck today.
grt1 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 gave our road the first scrapping of the year with my quad this morning, then we tried to get the new (to us) snow plow truck going, ended up putting a tarp over the engine compartment and putting my little buddy heater under the engine to warm it up . once we got it started, we had a rough time getting it into reverse, so I guess once we give it a going over in the garage and get the snow plow out of the box of the truck and installed we would be ready for the really heavy snow .
manitoubass2 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 we skipped snow and just got cold lol. we have half an inch or so but shes been around -15/-20 already
Rod Caster Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 Me and Joey took the machines out for a run today. The tundra and the old bravo ran great! Will post some pics for sure, I keep meaning to do that but it's dark now and I gotta travel this week. grt1, sounds like a long driveway or a very rural road!
chris.brock Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 I thought Joey was team Polaris? Bravo LT?
Rod Caster Posted November 16, 2014 Author Report Posted November 16, 2014 He has a Polaris 550 two -up that wouldn't turn over today...yikes. Probably ice, I hope. He just showed me his new 1990 Safari, now THAT is a reliable sled. I have the tundra and my brothers Bravo (I think it's LT). The tundra is in great shape, the bravo runs good but is in rough shape. Reminds me of Ricky's car on trailer park boys.
fish_fishburn Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Im about 120 miles east from you and we have just a dusting of snow here and were suppose to get a max of 5cm today.
lew Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Heard on the news this morning that the Barrie area could get an additional 50 cm by the end of this week.
BillM Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Sweet, I'm glad I got the snowblower out of the basement yesterday Not much snow today, just a few cms so far. I love this weather!
irishfield Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 And that might be just a dusting ....compared to some idiot that lives on the escarpement overlooking the "gap" !
Acountdeleted Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Getting a bit here in Woodbridge, problem is its been falling all day. Yuck is the driving ever bad.
Gerritt Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 Sweet, I'm glad I got the snowblower out of the basement yesterday Not much snow today, just a few cms so far. I love this weather! Basement? Seems like a strange place to store a gas powered snow blower? G
BillM Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) Basement? Seems like a strange place to store a gas powered snow blower? G Walkout basement. I can't imagine hauling that thing up and down stairs Edited November 17, 2014 by BillM

LostAnotherOne Posted November 17, 2014 Report Posted November 17, 2014 I'm glad my girlfriend enjoys the workout shoveling the driveway. Don't think I even shoveled once last year.
