misfish Posted October 1, 2014 Author Report Posted October 1, 2014 Believe it or not,the v6 is more then the v8. Only cuz they are more in demand. I didn't play that game with them. LOL Thanks Joe.
Headhunter Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 Forgot to mention that the bed of that truck will make an excellent "toon storage compartment"! Enjoy the ride Brian. HH
bassassin Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 We will see what happens with the new f150 2.7L eco-boost.... The fuel efficiency wars are beginning.... Not to mention the new larger canyon coming with a diesel as well!!
Woodsman Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 The 3.6 is a nice peppy motor. I have the same motor in my jeep. In the jeep it has 285 HP but I believe in the truck it's tuned to 305 HP.
lookinforwalleye Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 You guys are correct the Pentastar is actually a 1000 dollar upgrade over the Hemi on a base truck! Glad you found what you where looking for Brian!
motv8tr Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 ooohhh that is a very pretty ride...one of these days I'm gonna get me one. Enjoy Maureen
scugpg Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 (edited) The ram diesels are selling very well. Believe they put the 2015 GC diesels builds on hold for a bit to keep up to demand on the rams. Edited October 2, 2014 by Spooled
Fisherman Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 Last I just heard they can't keep the Ecodiesels on the lot and can barely keep up with orders. Looks like they will double the line to accomodate the demand.
anders Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 Last i heard they made 500,000 or so of the eco diesels and the demand was 850,000 or so
esoxansteel Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 My company truck a 2014 Chevy Silverado with 22,000 KM on it is Motor Trends recall truck of the year, just received my 8th recall notice and still counting, looks like GM wants the consumer to be the crash test dummy, from brakes not properly installed, to transmission line installed incorrectly, to side air bags not properly installed and might not deploy during side impact. LEMON MOPAR all the way
misfish Posted October 2, 2014 Author Report Posted October 2, 2014 Thanks again. Reached 200 km today. Needle moved just a tad. Forgot to mention that the bed of that truck will make an excellent "toon storage compartment"! Enjoy the ride Brian. HH Joe it,s like this. Lower tail gate. Pull out toon. Load on shoulders. Drop in water and fish. Just like a real boat.
lookinforwalleye Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 Last i heard they made 500,000 or so of the eco diesels and the demand was 850,000 or so I have 3 on the lot, sign here please..............................!!!

LEMON MOPAR all the way Dodge has just as many of not more recalls on the current ds series of trucks. All new vehicles have there share of teething problems when new
Joeytier Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 Yup! ^^ Any time an entirely new platform comes out, hiccups are inevitable, and it seems like GM at least handled the recalls fairly well. We'll see how those highly complex 8 and 9 speeds are doing in 5 years....

Old Ironmaker Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 Nice ride my man. Nothing beats that new truck smell, well almost nothing. And the feeling of a brand new out of the package new anything, but a truck, even better new. I never bought a new vehicle and I have been killing vehicles for 44 years. My wife(s) had new cars but I never did. After getting some very bad health news my lady was driving us home and we were on Upper James in Hamilton, dealers alley. She pulled into the John Bear GM dealer and told me, " you my dear are getting a new truck ". I did and I love her, my wife too. I got a 2011 in November of 2011 and I wasn't even thinking about a new truck that winter, my 90 GMC 4X$ short box stepside was fine for another winter. But with the incentives I got a full size Silverado 4X4 crew cab with the chrome package and bigger V8 for more than 10K off the window sticker price. The price that Ford and Dodge wanted for the similar models was 8K to 15K more. If anyone is thinking about next year for new wheels shop now, you won't be ordering options and section is limited but the prices can't be beat in the fall. Again, nice ride, love the Black on Black.
Steelheadphycho Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 Nice rig! My brother has a 1998 F-150 with the 3.9L V6 that still to this day has sufficient "stugatz" to pull his boat full of gear and haul 4 obese dudes 12 hrs north. Always gotten great mileage and totally dependable. No 4 wheel drive or power anything. Just keep a good wax on it. His black on black looks real old (cuz it is!) Congrats man!
canliq Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 Congratulation Brian for your new ride. Now you can put your toon in the trunk without need to deflate. Also you can carry a kayak with that truck..
misfish Posted October 3, 2014 Author Report Posted October 3, 2014 Thanks again. Yes I got the gold. The toon slide in,the oars slide right under it and so does all my gear and my front seat is open. LOL Aan,NO YAK for me.LOL I had the 97 model SHP. Manual 5 sp.
