Musky or Specks Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Oh and if I don't catch anything I blame the weather
mercman Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 I went fishing a few times with a member here(i wont mention your name Mike) who gets all weird if you bring a banana in his boat Something about banana boats sinking in the ocean
Guest ThisPlaceSucks Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 i catch more fish when my baileys is full of coffee if you know what i mean.
fishhunter Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Always pay the fish gods after I set my spread. Some times 2 and 3 times in a day. Can tell you lots of money at the bottom of Lake O and bay of quinte. Anyone that has been on my boat knows it pays to pay the fish gods
kickingfrog Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Do you have any superstitions or rituals you do when fishing to bring you luck? Let's hear them! Nope. Is that a superstition?
rocheleauc Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 i catch more fish when my baileys is full of coffee if you know what i mean. LOL
vance Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 I always catch fish if i am trying to catch a quick nap so i always try to go out when i am tired. vance
mike rousseau Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 NO Bananas... Used to be a joke until... One time halfway through a tuff day my buddy pulls a banana out of his lunch box... I jokingly give him heck... Banana peel hits the water... Couple minutes later...musky Another time in a friends boat... One of the guys had a banana...tossed the peel when he was done... Reeled in the musky Ross at the end of the troll... The banana peel managed to get hooked on the banana eaters lure... Crazy...
aplumma Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 If the fish are not biting I have found a strange coincidence between being distracted by a rats nest in the reel to hooking up on a fish. Art
Headhunter Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 I have one superstition... NO TERAPOOPA'S on Quinte! It has been confirmed and documented many times, that a "Terapoopa" in the boat, on Quinte will morf into a stripped critter in no time! HH
ccmtcanada Posted November 10, 2011 Author Report Posted November 10, 2011 I have one superstition... NO TERAPOOPA'S on Quinte! It has been confirmed and documented many times, that a "Terapoopa" in the boat, on Quinte will morf into a stripped critter in no time! HH Just because fish aren't caught with you there, doesn't mean I'm the problem. Caught fish just fine with Lloyd last year...LOL. I tend to blame the guide I'm out with if nothing is caught And there are no naked critters ever...striped maybe...
manitoubass2 Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Mine started from my girlfriend, always put some loose tobacco in the water before the first cast. Thats my superstition. My tradition is to be well prepared, have everything where I need it, and in a tidy fashion.
Headhunter Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 Anyone can reel in a fish... not everyone can get a fish to bite! I stand by my misspelled statement... HH
GBW Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 I tend to blame the guide I'm out with if nothing is caught so, what are you going to say to the people you take fishing in YOUR boat...
mercman Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 (edited) WTH is a terapoopa? GOOGLE TERAPOOPA, THIS LINK COMES UP http://ontariofishin...showtopic=24823 Edited November 10, 2011 by mercman
bare foot wader Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 when we're fishing anywhere around the Delaware area we HAVE to stop for chester chicken in the convenience store...it's a must stop, under no circumstances is chester's chicken passed on I also found a chester's chicken in BC, near Lytton, whenever I shore fish for sturgeon in the area we have to stop there, my BC fishin buddies don't really get it but the one time we didn't get the chicken we didn't get the sturgeon...pretty simple math there....we don't skip the chester's anymore
Roy Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 A Terapoopa is the community's way of having fun with a good natured member.
Harrison Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 (edited) When in a tournament I never fill the livewell until the first fish is caught. I had a favourite hat that blew off on Lake Ontario, it was rough and not safe to turn to get it. I am working in a new one. Edited November 10, 2011 by Harrison
ccmtcanada Posted November 10, 2011 Author Report Posted November 10, 2011 so, what are you going to say to the people you take fishing in YOUR boat... I accept full responsibility in that case... Or I'll blame the weather or something...LOL
Headhunter Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 A Terapoopa is the community's way of having fun with a good natured member. 100% correct Roy... I wouldn't have said it had I felt it would be taken the wrong way! HH
kuhaman Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 I never bring fish on a fishing trip, no cans of tuna or sardines or whatever else, and if you bring fish on a fishing trip with me stay the h*ll outta my boat!!
ccmtcanada Posted November 10, 2011 Author Report Posted November 10, 2011 100% correct Roy... I wouldn't have said it had I felt it would be taken the wrong way! HH No chance at that HH. All good here Oh...and to add one more...I never eat fish the day before a trip. You never know if the fish you are catching can "smell" fish death on your breath and stay away...LOL.
fishnsled Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 I have one superstition... NO TERAPOOPA'S on Quinte! It has been confirmed and documented many times, that a "Terapoopa" in the boat, on Quinte will morf into a stripped critter in no time! HH Yes, this is true. I hope the curse can be broken next weekend. He better not bring any banana's on board. Boated fish every trip this year to Quinte, we'll wait and see what happens at the G2G. I've got a couple of "lucky hats" so I'm not too upset it one goes missing. Not really to superstitious but Lloyd is right about paying the fish gods on the big water...forgot to do that last weekend and Joe caught the fish. Must have been my guiding and driving skills that help that to happen as well as no Terapoopa in the boat.
fishindevil Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 no bananas and i always talk nice to my lund, and the fish gods....
