I've also had problems with bringing mine to the dealership for services a well. Last time they left a nice dent in the side skirt and tried to blame it on me lol. Seven auto is good with great customer service.
Even worse than keeping it. What a waste. Personally I won't gill a fish unless I'm certain I'm keeping it. Only if they understood that catch and release only works if the fish is handled with care

Agreed, I broke about 6 inches off the tip of a rod last year and brought it in. They replaced it no questions asked, but first had to call a manager from the fishing department.
If you wait a month or so the chinook should be within casting distance at the piers. Personally I wouldn't eat any of the larger ones, but smaller ones are ok now and then.
