bigfish1965 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 A very localized area of lake effect snow is hitting the St Catharines corridor on the QEW and is going to get worse...up to 30 cm of snow with whiteouts. I know thats not much for you northern or snow belt guys, but we don't usually get that much and don't really have the equipment to handle it. Be careful on the highways!
Fisherman Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Localized eh, well it's just a blasting away up here around Barrie too, pretty wicked whiteouts and drifting, drive down the roads and come back 15 minutes later, no evidence of previous tracks.
bigfish1965 Posted January 3, 2010 Author Report Posted January 3, 2010 Pfftt..you Barrie guys get this crap all the time. This will shut the city down here.
HTHM Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Memories of '77, eh? That was one heck of a storm too! Stay safe and warm if you can.
solopaddler Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Nothing in Grimsby yet, hopefully the squalls don't materialize.

Big Cliff Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 A very localized area of lake effect snow is hitting the St Catharines corridor on the QEW and is going to get worse...up to 30 cm of snow with whiteouts. I know this isn't very Christian of me but BETTER YOU THAN ME! Light fluries here again today and winds gusting up to 40 k earlier. I would have liked to get out and try some more fishing but not in these conditions. Hope those that are affected by the storms are safe and sound!
phiphntek Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 you could drill a hole through the ice at midfield in Ralph Wilson Stadium right now.I think the Colts have gone fishin.
kmarr Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 snowing and blowing here can't even see the lake.
bigugli Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Lots of fluffy white stuff in Beamsville. Perfect weather for cutting and stacking wood with the son. Have gotten so much achieved with my puter down. Be a few days before I'm back online, so more time for essential chores.
jjcanoe Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Londons been getting hit for the most part since new years day and we don't have half the snow that the Strathroy area has gotten They've gotten it non-stop since then and it seems theres no letting up yet. jjcanoe

bigfish1965 Posted January 4, 2010 Author Report Posted January 4, 2010 We don't get snow days..you are expected to be there...big deal...a bit of snow Well..my vehicle doesn't say John Deere on the side of it. Snow day was good...even though the highway was closed for awhile cause they couldn't get a handle on the black ice. Just a few dozen minor accidents luckily. Still snowing though...
wormdunker Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I'm in Fonthill, snowed all last night - right now probably 10" on the ground. I hope the snow blower is working!! "work is for those who don't know how to fish"
dave524 Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Maybe 2cm max in Grimsby. It's my fault Solo, I treated myself to a snowblower this year. I actually was hoping to use it this time
