The stores must have had an over stock off snow removal stuff and called the media to announce BIG Panic THE SKY IS FALLING . Woke up this morning to see 2 Feet and all I see is green grass . I hope it snows like that all winter.

Cudz Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Two big lightning/thunder here amidst all the snow. I was shovelling the drive but that one lightning bolt was too close for comfort. My driveway is only halfway done.

Sorry, the storm has moved in pretty good here in Lindsay, not more than 30mins after i typed out my forcast. Lot''s of snow, maybe 10" in some spots....drift's are everywhere also

The bad comes tonight as the temp dips down to -41 with highs over the next couple of days in the -34 to -36 range!!! All coupled with 20 to 25 kmh winds for some nasty windchills in the -50 to -60 range!!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! On the bright side we're makin' some ice!!!!!!!

Fishing 24/7 Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 got off today boss phoned me this mornning cancelled he job . was supposed to go 2 houres in the back woods... last year we got stuck in the first storm like this one. lesson lived.. lesson learnt. now i can go in the garage and play with my ice fishing stuff.!

irishfield Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) We got about 6" of very wet snow.. drifts around trucks and buildings are/were over 1.5 feet. Took 2 hours to plow that crap vs the usual 45 minutes... but I found my snowshoes!! lol Temp has jumped to 3C... making things SLICK. Now clouding over for part two... supposed to get as much as 35 cm here tonight and tomorrow. Guess I should go work on moving my wood pile in while I still can! Edited December 9, 2009 by irishfield
Sinker Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Its now pooring rain here. What a mess. We've got about 6-8" of wet, nasty stuff on the ground. I wish I had of covered my boat. It took longer to clear it out, than it did the driveway!! She's ready to go for the morning though! S.

Dara Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 Well, we goy our 8" of blowing snow overnight and most of the day. Went to the mall with the wife tonight and all but a few side streets (mine) are plowed. It looks quite nice. Supposed to get another 8 the next day or so. Temp is a comfy -6 so no worry about rain. Looks like winter is settling in nicely. Another log on the fire and I'm set for the night. Oh yeah..son was just finishing shoveling as I pulled into the driveway after work...seems he couldn't get the blower to start..thats in the shop thawing now.
