  1. If you get a cold front coming thru and NW blow for a few days, you could be stuck. A Southwest cottage would be better
  2. Can't argue with that
  3. Just goes to show women always win. That's why I pay cash for my fishing supplies. The less they know, the better
  4. Glad not to see any gobis
  5. Canon's tough to beat. Decide whether you want a viewfinder or not. Having one helps in bright light or if you want to makesure you capture a facial expression. If not you get a larger viewfinder. Make sure you can force it to flash. For fish pictures you usually want the flash -especially if your subject is wearing a hat and his face is in the shade. Get one that shoots HD video.
  6. Yes, I believe Whitby is the next launch east. You can launch off the beach just west of the gap out to the lake, into Frenchmans Bay. If you have a heavy boat, you'd better have a 4x4. Shallow launch -might have to put rear wheels into the water. Not sure of the road but it's easy to find.
  7. I've had good luck with my Scotties. Fast, reliable, Canadian made.
  8. Nope. Not yet in Stouffville. In TO likely
  9. Absolutely brutal. The most horrific accident I've ever seen For sure a wake up call to be more careful esp in slippery weather I'm going to email it to all my family and friends. Especially the young people. My kids. Might save a life.
  10. Good thread. Was wondering what to do. I've just been putting a dab of RustCheck on the chipped spots occasionally. I spray all the areas on the trailer that are vulnerable twice/year. Bolts/clamps etc.
  11. Government website "Fish ON-LINE" says no walleye either
  12. Didn't think there are pike and walleye in Eels Lake. Bass and Lake Trout for sure
  13. Seem to be a lot of blond ex-wives out there. is that a hint?
  14. When I bought my Lund Tyee 17.5 in 2007, was open to Lund and Princecraft. Would have preferred to buy Canadian. But after sitting in the driver seat, and putting my right arm on the gunnel, the Lund felt more comfortable in many respects. I had them put a Yammy on. Cost $1K extra. Ask me in 10 yrs. I think the Yammy will turn out to be a good move. So far the combo has been excellent. peter
  15. You better not catch a 45+ incher. You'll be fishing more often than that.
  16. Didn't know there are muskies in Redstone?
  17. That's crazy. I need to use bigger lures! peter
  18. Bought one of their canoe packs 20 yrs ago. Now still being used by my kids in the Algonquin interior
  19. Nice piece Justin. Nothing dies of old age in the wild. Often death is brutal. Being eaten alive sometimes. I wouldn't want to grabbed by a hawk, have at least 4 talons stuck in your back. Then be ripped apart alive back at the nest. It aint pretty.
  20. Must be Kessel's kid
  21. I'll never forget my Dad losing a monster musky on a large stickbait because his brass swivel opened up. I use a swivel most of the time but always use one that has a little 90 degree bend on the end that snaps in.
  22. You can view a 27 min video that was broadcast this week on TVO. You can kiss fishing and boating goodbye at your local shallow lake if these bad boys get in. w3.tvo.org/video/174158/carpageddon
  23. Finding the same with used ATVs. Why would you pay 70-80% of the new value for a potentially abused ATV 3 yrs out of warranty? But people do.
  24. Incredible. That's a once in a lifetime How far did the moose have to come?
