  1. I’ve seen it several times now this fall on Pigeon. On mid lake humps. Multiple Bluegills splashing in a 3-4 ft area. Are they chasing bait or are they being chased 🤷🏻‍♂️
  2. Starting to use stabilized gas in the boat. Can’t seem to find Stabile Marine in stores. I’ve seen Star Tron sold at several reputable marinas. It make some big claims on the label. I take that with a grain of salt. We’ll see.
  3. Well, some disappointing news on the matter. Bought 90 litres of “premium ethanol fuel” at Curve Lake Fuels today at the marina. Tested it twice carefully using a syringe with 2cc well water and added 8 cc of the new fuel. Looks to have about 4-5% ethanol in it.
  4. Interesting. But is it quality gas otherwise?
  5. I see lots of bluegills around humps at the north end of the lake. I don’t target them unless I need some action for the grandkids. The eyes seem not to be on the weed edges any more. Tried trolling deeper with divers. Nada.
  6. Water was 78 F yesterday. Pretty heavy algae bloom. Not having any luck. I guess it’s chicken again for dinner.
  7. My son ( engineer) said he bought Shell premium today in Ottawa and tested it using a test tube. No ethanol. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  8. Sounds like premium. This was his reply Come test it. I have a tester.marina’s have this year exemption due to boats . Then i will have to sell the lesser expensive to me mid grade. A premium/ regular blend the other marinas are selling. No ethonal. What I’ve been told that guy you voted for bought a ethanol plant and needs $$. 10% in premium and 15% in regular which the land stations have all been selling this year. I’m sorry your confused. Maybe don’t vote for Trudeau next time. That’s where ther confusion/ corruption all begins.
  9. Messenged Curve Lake Fuels ( formerly Otter Fuels) at the waterfront at the Curve Lake Reserve. Asked about ethanol free fuel and can he prove it. Said yes. Said come and test it. He has a tester. The 3 roadside stations have no ethanol free fuel. Good to know. Wish I had known in the spring. 🫤
  10. No my friend. Main engine, graph, master switch and down riggers.
  11. Thanks Gents. I think I’ll pick up the larger 27M dual purpose Nautilus lead acid. I feel if I go to AGM, I might as well go lithium for not a lot more.
  12. Reading about dual purpose lead acid batteries Marine cranking amps 675. Better for electronics drain. Half the price of AGMs.
  13. After 15 yrs might be time to replace my 24M Deka starter battery. Since I got my Terrova with spotlock I use the Yammy 115 less to move around the weedbeds and with the Lowrance graph on for 3 hrs, I noticed the motor didn’t turn over as quick for the ride back to the dock. Can’t seem to find another Deka around. Are marine cranking batteries different than automotive batteries? Is this one any good? Rated fairly well.
  14. My muskie rod and reel ended up in the lake for 2min. Fortunately the cork handle kept it afloat. Is my reel ok or does it need some first aid? I'm not very good with opening up things with a lot of parts and springs. 🙄
  15. Fish the waterways inside the Toronto Islands. Bass, pike and carp.
  16. Will have to look into equipment on the boat. Likely a deductible involved. Liability is my biggest concern. My broker recommended to insure the current value of the boat instead of replacement value. I keep the boat at the cottage in the boathouse. Unlikely to be stolen. Rates were going up like crazy because of the cost of new boats. I pay around $500/yr for 2007 Tyee 1750 with 115 Yammy.
  17. A friend of mine got nailed by an aggressive CO on Balsam a few years ago. Got a birds nest jigging a deep weed edge for eyes early June. While trying to untangle, the wind blew him near shore. CO accused him of fishing bass in a know spawning area. checked boat and even house trailer on lake for evidence. None found. Wrote ticket anyway. Debated taking a day off work to fight it in court in Lindsay. In the end just paid it. Maddening.
  18. Dropped in today for first time. Huge selection. Crazy many plastics. Nice shop. On the main drag, Landsdowne. Used to be on Water St. Never seen Shimano crankbaits before.
  19. Will be good worm pickin 😎
  20. Seeing lots of guys throwing spinnerbaits to shore and docks. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤬
  21. Tail 👍 or 👎?
  22. Big change. Cooler temps and some wind. Temps now 64. Can’t buy a walleye.
  23. The lake sure has changed in last 5 days
  24. Interesting about the perch. I’m on north Pigeon. It’s pretty uncommon to catch a perch when fishing with the grandkids. 80% sunfish. 20% Rockies. No sculpin.
