Those are some good sized walleye.. I don't have the money for a fly in but I have some pretty good drive to lakes up that way.. Heading up in 10 days for some Grouse and fishing..

As far as I know Cormorants are not protected federally.. The province was in the process of putting Bill 205 through the legislature to allow them to be shot on sight. It died when Wynne prorogued parliament..

My uncle has a place less than 2 hours from keji and his lake is full of them along with smallmouth bass.. used to be a good trout lake at one time but they are long gone.. I swear there are northern pike in there as well but all the locals call them pickerel..

Got a pair for the shower at work but they aren't good for traction.. I also have a pair for launching the boat.. Not real ones, just the cheap knock offs..

I find that a single Plano box holds more than enough tackle for trips like these.... Took me a while to figure that out though.. Lol.. I hope to fish Quebec next spring..

When I was in northwestern Ontario we would be inundated with bugs and a few deerflies as soon as we touched shore.. then the dragonflies would show up and the bugs quickly disappeared...

I just got back Sunday from the Nipigon area... We only had one fish in the 38 inch range but we fished mostly small back lakes for Walleye..

Just got home from up in that area.. Too bad we couldn't get out on Nipigon due to having a small boat.. Lol

the double sided skin coloured tape used to be deadly on them when you attached it to your hat..... unfortunately I haven't seen them around in years.. if you could find some and train the dog to wear a hat......

$1800 a month for rent is crazy..my mortgage is less than that by several hundred bucks.. eventually something has to give with this kind of market.. There's only so much money to go around...

I'm kind of worried about my job... we were supposed to expand our steelmaking but now I'm worried about even having a job..

I am heading up there mid June.. We are staying inland and may take a trip to Nipigon for some Pike fishing. If I had a bigger boat I would stay out on the lake on an island. I look forward to seeing your report!. I know the backroads can be interesting but I have been hunting moose in the area for a number of years which gives me an idea of where we will fish... I spend nights laying awake working on my list...
