  1. When it comes time to renew your mortgage it may be beneficial to switch lenders... That way you can get a secured line of credit for the inevitable upgrade... Lol
  2. I just got a new truck and I put my old plates on it.. They are the 6 digit ones with black paint and they still look good.. .
  3. PetSmart has decent prices for wax worms.. 50 for $8
  4. I got a ticket in Honey Harbour on a quiet side road with access to the lake. There were no signs whatsoever telling me that I couldn't park there so I took the ticket right to the town offices and asked for an explanation. The bylaw officer was in the office and admitted that he wrote it. Being from out of town is no excuse for not knowing the local parking bylaw so I told them that I won't be back.... And I haven't..
  5. Go for it.. Just never ever take the bank up on their offer to roll the line of credit into the mortgage.. That's when you really pay!!
  6. I love that park. You should be able to get into a few walleye or Pike. There's some deep water for Lakers if you want to jig for them. The park is almost run like a private camp rather than a typical provincial park and like others have said bring all you need because it's a long haul into town. They have a generator in the staff camp so ice can be ordered and delivered to your site. They don't take reservations because they don't often fill up. If you want to use minnows bring a trap.. All supplies that you buy from them are inflated due to the distance to stock up. When I was there a young guy would fish every night after his shift and sometimes stop by different campsites for a beer.. Not much else to do other than hang out in his little room..
  7. I only use a 6 inch drill.. Doesn't say much about the size of the fish I catch but you may be surprised at what could fit through.. 20180116_121934_001.mp4
  8. Yes.. I paid $69 for it
  9. I finally got to try my clam plate with the sail auger and Milwaukee drill.. Amazing combination.. About 15 holes drilled in 9 inches of ice with the battery still reading full.. Cuts like butter...
  10. I made a backyard rink for my daughter.. It's a lot of work and it takes a lot of water.. The cold weather has made it so much easier to get the water to freeze before it drains out of my somewhat leaky tarp...
  11. Since I am a shift worker I tend to fish alone. Most of my days off are during the week and none of the guys on my crew really fish.. If I wanted someone to go to the gun range with mid-week , now that's a different story....
  12. If I fished Christmas day I would probably be single by boxing day.. Working 12hr nights both Christmas and boxing day this year... I should have been a school teacher...
  13. It's certainly a special place.. As is our big furry friend.. Lol
  14. I have a bush buggy and the tires leak from cracks in the sidewall..if I can find a cheap tube I might go that route but otherwise the hitchman sells those tires for a great price.. tire sealant might not work on a cracked sidewall...
  15. That Canadian tire Rapala drill looks an awful lot like a swede bore.. I have an offset handle swede bore that I love but with the plate I wanted something with the curved blades to make it easier on the drill.. I had a good look at the Sail drill that was out of the box and on display... the blades are identical to the fin bore... We just need ice now...
  16. We aren't afraid of him doing anything to us.. I think no one wants anything to do with him because he has never come clean with what he did..no one trusts him.. .He's a talker to anyone who will listen and he will keep your attention by sensationalizing the story....
  17. It's not looking good for ice at Long Point with this week's forecast.. There's some out there but it will need some time to thicken up.. Snow cover isn't usually a problem due to the wind blowing it away.. . The last good season for ice was the really cold year we had in 2014? Or was that 15??
  18. We usually give to Whispering Hearts horse rescue in Haggersville. We adopted a big furry friend from there 2 years ago..
  19. Sail will be clearing out the finbore 3 and carrying their own brand. My concern was with replacement blades but they are the same ones.. Hopefully the store brand blades will be cheaper than $55....
  20. I can go to the Hitchman on Grimsby mountain where premounted tires are cheaper than just buying tires and paying to have them mounted. I don't have a big fancy boat.. Just a 14 footer... My enclosed trailer will need tires in a year or so and I will go there as well.. If you have ever tried to paint those white spoked rims you would know what a pain in the arse it is to make them look decent..
  21. My cousin was convicted of 1st degree murder in the death his girlfriend... Him and I were pretty close for a few years until I found out that he was a compulsive liar. I just couldn't believe his overlapping stories anymore. He actually started to believe some of the things he made up about himself... We reconnected about 6 months before he was to be married and I ended up as his best man. 9 months after he was married his wife committed suicide by running a hose into her car from the exhaust. We believe that she found out about a girl he had on the side who also had his child... Fast forward a couple of years and once again him and I were estranged and he had yet another girlfriend and a young son.. This is the girl who goes missing.. He says that she ran off with a new guy but it turns out that he killed her, cut her into pieces and buried her in a couple of different places.... I believe he's up for parole in 5 years or so.. Many of us in the family dread the day he gets out.. No one wants him to show up at their door..
  22. I just bought the clam plate and the new auger that sail has.. It is a store brand but built by rapala and uses the finbore 3 blades.. On sale for $70 to boot.. Paired with the milwaukee drill it makes for a colourful and deadly combination.. https://www.sail.ca/en/sail-perceuse-pour-peche-sur-glace-596739
  23. Geeze Dave, hope you are feeling better soon.. And I hope the bay freezes this year.. It's a much nicer drive than Simcoe..
  24. I put a thin layer of water on my daughters ice rink last night.. The temperature was - 15 but since it was snowing it was slushy in the morning.. Once I shoveled it, bang.. Frozen!! Snow has incredible insulating qualities..
  25. If you call the tree companies, they may have a call list that they will put you on...I will be looking for more in the new year even though I have 2 more years worth of wood....You never know when a good thing will come to an end....
