Have debated the same thing and decided against the kicker. I get out maybe 10 times a year, and troll about 6 hours each time out. Thats only 60 hours a year, pretty sure the Yamaha (90 hp)can handle that. Speed not a factor as I am fishing for musky. When I looked at the costs to get a kicker, get it installed etc etc it just wasn't worth it. I

We were at Pigeon a few weeks ago...I catch a musky a few hundred meters from the beach. Quickly place it in the livewell and bomb back to show the kids who are currently swimming. Naturally dad lets it go just outside the swimming area. THAT was hilarious, like a scene from Jaws with kids scrambling out of the water.

Wish you were going to Carolina's! We are heading there in a couple of weeks and based on the number of shark attacks lately there are plenty around!

Used to fish there a lot. I found the musky fishing had slowed considerably about 6 or 7 years ago, haven't been back since. Perhaps the population/pressure has improved!

Good luck! I was there last week, got into a few. Gannons always coughs fish up for me, but not this time. Spent 4 or 5 hours there over the week and not even a sniff. That amount of time would usually get me a couple in years past. Hope you do better if you stick to that area!

here you go...I have a 2013 Caravan that I use to tow a 16'8" Alumacraft with a 90 hp and full console. I also tried to add a tranny cooler and was told it was not necessary....people turning down business? Gotta be true I guess. I tow from Guelph to St Clair and Guelph to Pigeon...no problem been doing it a couple years. Gas mileage gets cut in half though! And others have said, stick to paved launches. Get a hitch and have at er!

Depends on when...wife just gave me a three day pass to St C so I doubt I will be back there anytime soon! As far as extra bodies on board that is generally a good thing on st clair. Extra people means extra lines allowed and increase your odds. For me, I find 3 guys on board is ideal. Gives you 6 lines and everyone has a role. One guy reels in fish, other guy nets it, 3rd guy controls the boat in sometimes "adverse" conditions.

Well we did pretty good numbers wise...between 2 of us caught and released 13 muskies in 2.5 days of fishing. Size? not so much. Our biggest was around 40, a whole bunch of mid 30's and a couple that you would need to put on the rack to stretch out to 25! Either way, lots of fun and got to bump into Krattor out there by the hump.

oh i was plenty happy...about that one. But I think for 2.5 days fishing I only got 3 (other 2 were less than 40) and my buddy only got a pike and a sheephead....real miserable trip for him!
