  1. nice tips!
  2. We have some bass (same ones maybe?) that spawn just off our dock each year. Every time at the cottage in May and June I bring a dozen or two worms and feed them by hand. When season opens they are usually still around...just can't bring myself to catch them. Gladly hop in boat and go catch other bass, but not the ones around my dock. Guess I am a softy at heart.
  3. I see that!
  4. Too funny. You certainly have found a preferred ambush spot for them
  5. Ya that was not even a cast. Amazing
  6. nice pb! Those are the ones I seem to get when fishing for musky.
  7. Sure do! You and Pete would fish together I think, I remember Wayne being nicely set up with a heater in his boat and fishdawg came with me once
  8. October is such a crazy month. Definitely have shorts days but it is often the month you see the first snowflakes as well (for southern Ontario)
  9. what a gorgeous spot and some fantastic fish. i hope mine isn't put away until Mid December
  10. nice! That's why multi day trips are so key if you can take them. One day they are on and the next they arent
  11. have you been? I head up next week to give it a shot
  12. wow...beauties
  13. buying nice sized minnows for ice fishing can get costly. When we have had a bad day and have lots of bait left I have joked to my buddies about selling them on marketplace. Guess I shouldn't do that!
  14. Amazing fish. As a guy who likes to target musky in the fall I hate these gorgeous days. The less comfortable I am in the elements the more likely I am to catch multiple. Rule of thumb...if my partner has a trail of snot coming out his nose and he can't feel it because he is frozen stiff from being pelted with snow or sleet...we are nailing em.
  15. beauty. Red sky at morning...did it end up being a terrible day for boaters?
  16. ...fyi that small outboard is a 2 stroke
  17. Does your boat see a lot of activity? If so I would do it all anyways. I have a small outboard that doesn't see much use (3-5 hours a season) and I store it in the basement. With that one sometimes all I do is run some stabilizer through the gas, spray some fogging oil into the air intake while its running and haul'er downstairs. Change the seals maybe every 3 rd year. Is it the best idea? Maybe not but I have had it 8 years and its doing fine.
  18. Great job! Didn't have to say that was on Pigeon....the houseboat in the background is all I needed to see to know it!
  19. Thanks for the update. Time enjoying creation with the boys is always great even if the fishing is so so
  20. better idea. Balsam used to be my go to lake until 20 years ago when I started catching just as many pike as muskies. Figured that was the beginning of the end for musky in Balsam
  21. very nice! Some great footage there.
  22. I have never stayed at that resort but know people who have, and they have gone more than once so it must be at least acceptable! Lots of musky at the top end of Pigeon and mid october is a great time to be after them. You should have a great time!
  23. I saw one of those in my garden last year for the first time. Freaked me out a bit for sure. I dang well stayed clear of it. Harmless or not, big spiders are kinda gross (in my opinion...there may be some weirdos out there who are enthralled by them)
  24. have driven past it a couple of times and it looks very nice (the colour of the water caught me eye). Has this trip happened? How did it go?
  25. what's that line...better to ask forgiveness than permission
