  1. I just use a tip up with a big ol sucker under it....what's that line from tv..."set it, and forget it". (just don't forget it too much, make sure its easily visible from your hut window)
  2. shoot I thought this was gonna be a "got the boat out one last time" post! Nice to see you got some fish, and i hope everyone takes your advice to stay away...especially Monday and Tuesday when it is cold again and people quickly forget the warm spell
  3. Sucks to hear all this. I used to fish L St. John regularly about 25 years ago both winter and summer. I know the factory you are talking about....for some reason i always thought it was a soap factory. There used to be a resort at the north west corner...run by some weird dude...pretty sure there was a launch there. Maybe this is the bluebird park people are talking about?
  4. Nice video! Lots of beauty fish in there. As far as your other firsts for next year? If you want a musky go walleye fishing, if you want a walleye go musky fishing!
  5. I would say pretty good. Had an 8 musky day once so that's nothing to sneeze at (our goal at the beginning of the season was a 7 musky day so its nice to actually make a goal). The yearly goal of a 50 on a figure 8 still has yet to be achieved though...will inspire me into next season!
  6. congrats on the new tires....you will not go back! Remember the first snows I bought...what a difference
  7. got Christmas off, but have to work Boxing day and New Years Day....and all the other days in between
  8. I will take it as well. If the snowblower is covered in dust i am happy.
  9. yipes. Straightening a big hook like that takes some force. Stay out of the water!
  10. Nice! was hard to tell...were you able to get the hook out or do you just cut the line?
  11. dagnabbit...can't get video to go....wait a minute she just started
  12. Wow that's a beauty. I should take your dad out...I often stumble into some rather large walleye while musky fishing
  13. Ridiculous. That league needs a salary cap.
  14. That fish looks like it just ate the biggest musky I ever caught. Ridiculous fish
  15. well I am getting out the boat one more time..but after that let it freeze! Put the boards up for the rink yesterday
  16. Fine...I am in! Thought that fish was a good way to end the season...but you never know, there might be a better one waiting. Some of my biggest fish have come right at the end of each year, here's hoping!
  17. haha...hadn't fogged it yet. Funny thing, it is a Yamaha. Not the first time this guy has tried to convince me to take the boat outta bed. Did it 3 or 4 years ago too. That time I did. Got to the launch and found about 100 feet of inch thick ice! Took us close to an hour to smash thru the ice with an anchor. We got a nice musky that day tho!
  18. haha...quit fishing. I can't help you, but sounds like a fantastic place to go
  19. Wowsers there are some awesome fish in that mix. Congrats on a great year!
  20. We got this musky last week on what I THOUGHT was my last trip of the year. (sorry don't know how to make pic full size) Anyway, so my buddy calls me just after I have changed the oil, stabilized the gas, vaccuumed the boat, changed the oil in the hubs etc etc...he wants to go again. What's a guy to do?
  21. Be aware of the random company that spotted your resume. There are certain companies that will bring you on board for some type of sales (products? life insurance? mutual fund sales etc)...the training costs you several hundred dollars, and most people never get their money back out of it. They are ALWAYS looking for new people because they make more money off their own trainees than they do from whatever it is they are selling!
  22. Funeral homes love to have a list of part-time guys as long as you look presentable in a suit! Drive the hearse on funerals, a little bit of maintenance work around the home (change light bulbs, clean restrooms, vacuum, shovel snow where the plow doesn't reach), greet people at front door - hang coats etc, do removal from hospital etc. There are lots of options.
  23. its a pricey day heading down alone...don't blame you for not going. I did it once alone, found it hard to justify the costs so always take a friend or two now
  24. ya if I see winds like that I definitely make the 3 hour drive to the Kawarthas rather than the 3 hour drive to St. Clair...man Guelph sucks for distance to my favourite fishing holes
  25. nice! Where are all the other boats though? Everytime I fish that spot there is a line up! I guess fishing the evening gives some privacy
