DRIFTER_016 Posted November 23, 2016 Author Report Posted November 23, 2016 It's awful!!! We're 7 places ahead of last year and the dang team is playing 60 minutes each game!!! How the heck are we supposed to get another #1 pick like this!!!
DRIFTER_016 Posted November 24, 2016 Author Report Posted November 24, 2016 Looks like Matthews has his mojo back. 2 goals and assist in the 1st period!!!!
leaf4 Posted November 24, 2016 Report Posted November 24, 2016 (edited) Looks like Matthews has his mojo back. 2 goals and assist in the 1st period!!!! And when he scores we lose! Hahaha whatever I'll take the point Edited November 24, 2016 by Lucas F
grimsbylander Posted November 24, 2016 Report Posted November 24, 2016 And when he scores we loose! Hahaha whatever I'll take the point I see this as a good thing. I wish you could take the point!
leaf4 Posted November 30, 2016 Report Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Well played game by the boys last night! I watched the first and second and they were controlling the game pretty handily which is great against the oilers who've been rolling as a pretty good unit in the last couple weeks even though this loss gave them 3 straight losses lol Edited November 30, 2016 by Lucas F
AKRISONER Posted November 30, 2016 Report Posted November 30, 2016 the plan is working pretty well thus far. three of the top five rookie scoring and goal leaders are leafs Remember mathews is doing this playing with brown!
DRIFTER_016 Posted December 1, 2016 Author Report Posted December 1, 2016 They should have saved some from last night.
leaf4 Posted December 1, 2016 Report Posted December 1, 2016 If enroth was a bit more sharp early on it would've helped!
John Bacon Posted December 1, 2016 Report Posted December 1, 2016 If enroth was a bit more sharp early on it would've helped! No matter how well the goalie plays, the team still needs to score at least once to win.
jimmer Posted December 1, 2016 Report Posted December 1, 2016 They were asleep last night, just like I was after two periods.
dave524 Posted December 1, 2016 Report Posted December 1, 2016 They were asleep last night, just like I was after two periods. Good thing the Raptors were playing as well
leaf4 Posted December 1, 2016 Report Posted December 1, 2016 No matter how well the goalie plays, the team still needs to score at least once to win. Yup but being down 2-0 in the first minute of play doesn't help any
AKRISONER Posted December 1, 2016 Report Posted December 1, 2016 Good thing the Raptors were playing as well seriously? No one here was watching the TFC game?
huzzsaba Posted December 4, 2016 Report Posted December 4, 2016 https://www.nhl.com/news/eric-semborski-blackhawks-emergency-backup-goalie/c-284354006 Great story! I wish sometimes these emergency goalies get a chance to actually get into the game and surprise the crowd and most of all themselves! Perhaps the starter goalie needs to take a bathroom break
manitoubass2 Posted December 4, 2016 Report Posted December 4, 2016 The game last night wasnt the best. Tos goalie is really exposed in shoot outs. TO shoulda won first minute of OT. Boy that 3 on 3 is bonkers
leaf4 Posted December 4, 2016 Report Posted December 4, 2016 Andersen was good but Miller played like the Miller of old, on Buffalo, if he stole them games like that all the time he'd be worth his salary. The shootout Andersen allowed himself to be pushed too far back into his net and easy goals are scored how does an NHL goalie make that mistake? Lol
glen Posted December 8, 2016 Report Posted December 8, 2016 Gar diner watch this I'm going to score a goal on you. Ok I'll just stand at the side and watch.
muskymatt Posted December 8, 2016 Report Posted December 8, 2016 3 points out of 1st place. GO SENS GO
grimsbylander Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Yeah!!! That's hilarious!! You forgot to mention they're in 7th place and there's 16 teams within 7 points of 1st!!! You should be a politician!! I hope the leafs keep playing well and well enough to lose! AND I hope I never get excited that the leafs in are 7th place in December!!!

grimsbylander Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Meh! Laffs suck! lol Haha...well you got me there! I'm going with the "things are looking up" philosophy! I just hope they don't play well enough to win away a good draft pick.
manitoubass2 Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Lotsa people view the leafs as playing bad. I kinda agree and disagree. Watch the games. This team is playing good hockey. Many nights they are playing teams playing better hockey. That sounds silly but its true. If compared to the past few seasons, the difference is huge! And in a good way. Last year and the previous year was hard to watch. Like a aaa team vrs NHL. Now they are playing NHl hockey, have tons of speed, playing physical and have a great upside offensively. The weakness I still see is goaltending and gardiner. Gardiner is hit and miss Abd im not sure whats wrong with the goaltending? Anderson seems poised and in good position but plays really low. Goaltenders that play low tend to give up alot of rebounds, and your not utilizing time. The less you have to move, the more your in a favourable position. Price for example. He only moves when he needs to. Watch a slapshot from juat inside the blue line. What moves? His glove or blocker, thats it. Its efficient movement.
BillM Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Gardiner is having his best season yet. Babcock is bringing out the best in him. He's never going to be a D man that punishes forwards and lays the big hits. People need to stop expecting that.

My problem is he doesnt move his feet, and this is why he gets walked in on like a pylon. When he does move his feet hes creating alot of offense and he is a good d man. Seems though 2-3x a game he gets caught flat footed Babcock will continue to help him (and everyone) progress. Thats babcocks forte
