DRIFTER_016 Posted July 11, 2015 Author Report Posted July 11, 2015 Well I was going to go back to work after dinner but me muscles say "not gonna happen"!!! Time to put the tools away for the night, watch a movie and have a rum or ten!!! I did get a bunch of work done though so all is not lost. Hopefully get the underside done tomorrow so I can insulate the floor and put the sub-floor down.
DRIFTER_016 Posted July 12, 2015 Author Report Posted July 12, 2015 I managed to get all that lousy over your head work finished today. I get to start insulating the floor and laying down my sub floor tomorrow!!! Heading in to town on Tuesday to restock. Running out of Advil!!!!
Jds63 Posted July 12, 2015 Report Posted July 12, 2015 Nice ....... , Great to be building on that bedrock !!!!
NewHips Posted July 12, 2015 Report Posted July 12, 2015 Dave, I have a giant sized bottle of Aleeve from Costco, I can fly that in for you. I know nothing about carpentry....but I can make a wicked rum & coke. After some serious supervising I know I can catch a few fish for dinner and really have a great beer batter recipe I know you'll enjoy........I'll even do the dishes. Just think about it........no pain....a drink in your hand.....fresh walleye dinner....no mess. Life can't get any better then that..............
DRIFTER_016 Posted July 13, 2015 Author Report Posted July 13, 2015 (edited) Didn't get any floor stuff done today. Back is killing from the last couple of days and it's blowing a gale here. Didn't want to be handling 75# sheets of OSB sub flooring and get blown off the structure. So I finished putting in my nailing blocks for the ends of the ceiling panels below and started sheathing the crawl space walls. Will try to finish it tomorrow but they are calling for rain all day. They were doing a back burn out @ Harding Lake to kill off the South flank of the Hearn Lake fire today as well. Edited July 13, 2015 by DRIFTER_016
mr blizzard Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 awesome Dave but govt at its best all water bombers sat idle at the airport today while ash fell over the town, the old adage if its not hindering property dont worry about it, yet they r still wondering about the long term health effects of the smoke, maybe the costs of putting out the fires will be cheaper than the long term health effects that the hospital will have to endure in the years to come, when u finish get a air purifier just saying, awesome job, proud of ur progress
Dara Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 Nice work....I almost made it up to help next month but plane tickets are a tad expensive

DRIFTER_016 Posted July 16, 2015 Author Report Posted July 16, 2015 After a couple of days off it was back at er today. Got the rest of my sheathing done on the crawl space walls and started getting the floor down and insulated. 3" Styrofoam SM for the first layer and 2 layers of R15 fiberglass on top for a total of R45 in the floor. Should have toasty tootsies.
DRIFTER_016 Posted July 22, 2015 Author Report Posted July 22, 2015 Got the floor finished today. All insulated, caulked and painted (mostly, I ran out of paint with about 1/4 to go) Also got my basement/crawl space door jams in. Starting on the walls tomorrow.
