  1. egg sack lee think Dave's percentage / success is significnatly going to change because he changed manufacturer?
  2. Wow - awesome day - those are some sweet fish. I haven't done that climb yet, but I hear its quite the energy burner even in good weather - how was it with ice and snow climbing up / down there. ? I really got to get out there one day soon.
  3. -40? sounds like you takeit off the grill and it would be freeze dried before it hit the bun You're a dedicated BBQ man Dave fresh fish I hope?
  4. Vince - I think you need to do a "current standings"update - whaddya think guys? Who's in the lead?
  5. LLOYD - look what you've done .... Wayne will never be the same...
  6. ? , Yikes. 210? 1 mile every 15 seconds,..... "Hey George, what's that up on the Horizon?" "Where?" "Right there in front of, Uh oh, >>>" Bet your fule bill woudl not be a pretty site after an afternoon out either
  7. If you really look deeply you will see that the same companies make the parts for all the majors......... so eventually, they will all experience similar problems the toyotas and hondas (model dependent) buy from the same companies as the fords and gms (canada / US made models). Me - proud owner of: GM - failed head and intake manifold gaskets, bubbled paint, but great riding vehicle and economy; bone head hit and rolled me at leats 80K before it shoud have been retired FORD, failed ball joints and starter motor, but great pick up (ranger - BEFORE Mazda - 2 kids and a dog required an upgrade to the GM ) Toyota - funny little thing abouth the spare tire - but comes equipped standard to pull my boat and does a great job (no required tranny cooler etc) - but too low Hyundai - 0 interference engine - it breaks, it breaks big - but besides that 0 Chrysler - welll....... the taxi I drove in 81 (fury III) was fast and hot, but since then..... not so much , but thats me - I know a lot of Ram fans.....
  8. Boat show has some really good deals on Lunds right now.....if, you're thinking of buying one, you really should go see what kind of deal you can wheel - last day of the show they will be trying to push those numbers up
  9. Wow - too bad the focus was so off - cant really tell how it ended. That has to be one of the orginal "oh crap" moments.....
  10. My condolences to the officer's family This tragic event is so unnecessary - and Dave - very wise words especially for those who put themselves in harms way, but also for all of us as we go about our daily lives, because it could happen anytime to anyone - you never know when it will be the last time.
  11. What Blair said - and its whatever YOU like best. For me - 7 ft St Criox (used to be Fenwick Highlander II, but 2 broke when they shoudlnt have and I gave them up) with 12 lb mono and a fluoro leader. Reel - honestly, I haven't found any-one reel makes a huge difference, once you get out of the basement pricing. Any reel over $40 / $50 will do an adequate job. Lots of guys on the board swear by bait casters and their abilty to drop a line exactly where they want - I can pretty well do that with my spinning reel. My efforts to date with a baitcaster (not that I have stopped trying mind you) have been something between dissappointing and humourous - depending on whether it was me or the guy next to m ein the boat judging . Use what you can feel the fish with best.
  12. Way to go Simon - for both catching and releasing that beauty. Nice walter
  13. Awesome report - thats hard core boating, and the rewards beauty
  14. Thanks John - he designs most of his projects himself, sometimes taking a little bit here and there from looking at a variety of aftermarket products and incorporates his likes from several designs then puts it all togehter. Sometimes we'll work together sourcing parts over here, as Harley's are pretty rare (compariativley) in the UK, and finding anything over there can be difficult and costly. The Trike rear end was one of those little bit of this, little bit of that. He has a few fellow bikers who help with the fabbing part, and does alot himself. Keeps him honest when the ears act up. I hear you on the cafe racer - great handling and turning set up, but man it takes a while to get used to -and if you're over 6ft, you look pretty funny when you stretch out
  15. Ok, I could fish for that on hard water - nice gators. But just out of curiosity, the temp was?
  16. Just got a chance to see these Joey - NICE . I share your sleep requirements, and simply passed, knowing that some more dedicated peeps such as yourself would get some beauty shots. Looks like I know what the next camera upgrade around here will be....
  17. Love these Owl photos - they are just great. We have them around here, can hear them at night, but have only once seen one in the daytime, and he was being harrased by Crows.
  18. How about, not necessarily my garage, but my bro's? That count? Hey's been a Harley nut long as I can remember. Back when he was in his early 30's he won best paint job for his sporter 2 years in a row (lives in the UK); anyway, about 3 years ago he developed meniers disease - which is an incurable disease that affects the inner ear and will result in sudden and severe spells of dizziness and nausea -not a great situation for some one who loves ot ride on 2 wheels, so to make sure he could still enjoy his passion, he put together a little custom job using his Ultra Glide as the foundation the pics to follow are at about 90% completion - still has exhaust and a few chromes to add when these were taken This year he has two projects on the go (he makes these and sells them) one is a cafe racer. The frame is aftermarket made specifically to fit the engine, it is a 2006 sporster engine, the rest of the bike is custom Its based on the Triton, which was a triumph engine in a Norton featherbed frame, still to this day one of the best handling frames ever made. the frame is made out of aircraft tubing and can be picked up with one finger. The other is a custom chop, orange county style: When he's done fabricating, he sends them out to a high end custom paint shop. If they are sold before the painting process, obviously the buyer can make his choice of paint job.
  19. That is just an amazing year way to go. New boat, new kid and a great collection of Muskie - that is a well balanced year
