So here we sit waiting for safe ice. Everything else has been discussed here while we're in between seasons. lol! So what did you do? My wife & I spent New Years at home watching TV (especially the Canadian juniors beating USA -Woo Hoo!). Later in the evening she prepared 2 - 8oz lobster tails, shrimp with cocktail sauce while roasting a frenched rack of lamb!! I drank a couple beers while watching the hockey game, 1 glass of wine during dinner (which was awesome!). After dinner we watched the festivities at Times Square in New York. Went to bed at 10:00! Happy New Year everyone!

Awesome Nick! Thanx for the fish porn. The only ice in Niagara is in my rye & coke! LOL

Sounds like a power supply issue to me. Did you ensure the electric cord is also fully inserted at the TV?

I agree! That's all I ever used as a teen, Mitchell 300 & 301 (left handed model), paired with an Algonquin fiberglass rod. We fished Buckhorn & Bobcaygeon catching many walleye in the 4 - 6 lb range! Do you remember fishing off Shearer's dock in Buckhorn in the 60's. Having said that, the fishing pressure wasn't near what it is today. Last time I was in Buckhorn guys were keeping 12 & 13" walleye. Tackle, rods n reels are designed to catch fishermen! It's true!

Thin Waterproof Gloves - Existence unknown
wormdunker replied to AKRISONER's topic in General Discussion
Not gloves but how about a waist muff which you slide your hands into when they are cold. I just read another post about eglisheepfarm.com They have a sheepskin muff which looks awesome. I've been told there is a battery powered heated muff available. They operate on the same principle as the heated jackets available at Home Depot & Marks. When operating your gas auger make sure you point the exhaust away from your body. I melted my previous muff by not paying attention! -
I had a similar situation 2 weeks ago. I received an email from CRA (revenue Canada) stating I was entitled to a further tax refund due to new information they had received. Then they wanted my personal information such as social insurance #, email address & the amount of refund I was claiming. Immediately I became suspicious. If they're sending me a refund - wouldn't they already have my personal info? Sure enough when I phoned CRA the guy at CRA told me they never send out emails such as the one I received. Just a heads up guys!

Advice-Ice Fishing Lake Nipissing
wormdunker replied to LostAnotherOne's topic in General Discussion
I was on Nipissing 2 years ago & caught a few walleye during mid day using buckshots tipped with a minnow. Also caught a few nice perch with the same set up in 43 fow. -
Anyone switched from 2 to 4 stroke?
wormdunker replied to Rembrandt100's topic in General Discussion
Welcome to the board Rembrandt. I own a 14' Lund that originally came with a 30 hp Suzuki 2 stroke, pull start. That motor was crazy fast at 30 mph with just me in the boat. I decided to go with a 20hp Yammy 4 stroke electric start last June. It's 10 hp less but only decreased my top speed to 23 mph. I'm very satisfied with the Yammy. Brand new, 3 year warranty & best of all I'm not pulling a cord on a cool fall morning. -
Camping in Ontario - be prepared for skeetos & blackflies. I plan my northern Ontario fishing trips in mid September. = no bugs!

I had WFN for 6 months & cancelled it. It was a lot of reruns & fishing in exotic places I know I can't afford. I prefer to watch the shows that are in Ontario & also my magazines are Ontario based..
