Awesome topic! I really enjoyed your replies as I have a plan to retire in 3 years. I say this because I do enjoy my job (I'm not telling lies), pay is awesome & if I were at home right now, I know I''d be tinkering with something. I always said I would fish 3 - 4 days per week when I retire. That's exactly what I'll be doing providing God gives me my health.

I'm hoping Lake Erie will freeze over as it did last year. It's only 40 minutes from my house & nice jumbos.

Very nice to see an all white deer! Question Does it have to have pink eyes to be considered an albino? I've been fortunate enough to see albino (white) caribou on the Slate Islands offshore at Terrace Bay. I don't know if they had pink eyes. There was also an all white mature doe in Brampton a few years back near the conservation area on hwy 7

I've been reading this post for the last couple of days. Very interesting! I have a Kinetico water softener in my house which is 30 years old. I have never done any maintenance, disinfecting etc. Is there anything I should be doing to ensure it is operating properly, such as disinfecting the salt tank? Last time I took a water sample to the Kinetico dealer was about 5 years ago. Me Bad!!

Thanx guys. I did go shopping yesterday. Here's what I found. Honda portable gas generator , 2000 watt $1300.00 - expensive but quiet to operate & fuel efficient. Generac same size $750.00 but a little louder than the Honda. I do no want a Champion generator. I also searched the water powered systems but they do consume about 1 gallon of city water to discharge 1 gallon on sump water. The Zoeller 507 systems seems to be a very good unit. But, then there is the cost of 2 AGM batteries to consider. Now the Cadillac of power supply systems - it's similar to Lews. Koehler 8000 watt generator which will run my whole house in the event of a power outage. It is wired directly to my house panel, powered by natural gas or propane. It will automatically turn on when the hydro goes out & will keep all my electrical equipment operating in a normal fashion. Fridges, freezer, furnace, sump pump, TVs, computers. Awesome! Cost is $4,000.00, installation approx. 800.00 + tax. Total about $5,400.00. Awesome! Decisions - decisions??

First - I personally don't care for carpeting in my boat. It takes longer to dry than vinyl, can get smelly from worms, minnows & fish, & the damn stuff always has a way of catching my hooks! So when I put a new floor in my 14' Lund I purchased the vinyl from Home Depot, & used their glue. Look at the new Lunds - their vinyl floors is the same product Home Depot sells. That was 2 years ago & it has still held together very well. 3M 777 spray contact is also a very good product.

I have a Clam Nanook flip over that I pull with my ATV. It's comfortable for 2 guys, sets up in 2 minutes, easy on the budget. $400.00. Mr. Buddy heater keeps it comfy also. There is a lot of room for storing gear, 2 doors is very handy. Bonus is on a warm sunny day (March) I don't even set it up, just sit on top of it & suntan while catching perchies!!
