  1. Just an extra layer Glen. You can do the same thing with funds and not even leave Canada, just put them into a Life Insurance company's investment fund with a named beneficiary. Nobody can touch them even if you decide to claim bankruptcy. It's nothing new and a common theme for anyone that takes that big life gamble and takes all their hard earned savings and starts a new business.
  2. Well for one final entry on this thread, I've confirmed the old saying that the only guarantees in life are death and taxes. I have hopefully filed Jen's last tax return and will be able to get a clearance certificate in due time after the assessment notice comes back. Sent Trudeau and Wynne another $13,000 and change on Jen's behalf, despite her disability credit and medical expenses. Oh well, it is what it is and we keep putting one foot in front of the other. Thanks for hanging in there with us for 5.5 years.
  3. Tracker and Legend could learn something from that...
  4. Belt I can get for between 22 and 33 dollars, depending on w/AC or not. Lower rad hose to T = $32 Lower rad hose from T to Reservoir = $11 Upper Rad hose = $20 Heater hose small ID, cut to fit $14 Only shows one for vehicle and don't have my step granddaughters Cobalt here to see what else is in there that you'd need. So hoses $110 + any clamps and antifreeze. That said I question why you think these all need replacing, does it also need a thermostat, etc, etc.
  5. We're all just pissed off because we didn't have enough to hide, or too dumb to realize this was an option !
  6. Current levels on GBay are "up to the brim" !
  7. My pool is finally ice free! Penetang Harbour appears clear, Midland Harbour and the Sound partially clear. Grain boat left on Monday.
  8. Congrats floater.. do it once, do it right. Skip the miracle cures.
  9. .....
  10. What you do that for... you're just going to get it dirty again!! I have an '85 Moto 4 in the hangar. Has the original oil in it. You can't kill it..
  11. Fully covered, by your liability coverage if nothing else and your comprehensive if you pay for it. Might wanna find a new broker.
  12. Wow.. a tough crowd. Many here are of the age that as long as you fit into a spot you went, whether it was a car, van, or truck box. No seat belts, no nanny state. Baby's rode in their mother's arms, not some wiz bang $2k car seat that instantly transforms into a stroller. Flea market.. figure he put the baby in, started car to get the heat going and then was outside waiting for someone to bring what he bought or what not. What can you do when someone jumps in and rips off and who would ever expect that to happen? Good thing is Baby is safe and Dad learned a life lesson.
  13. Sorry Rick, but you're out of line.
  14. They can deny or at least try to get out of a claim if you're driving on bald tires, can't see it being any different not having snows on that are listed as required on your policy. Similar to the "lay up" period on most of our boat policies, it's what you agreed on to get the price reduction.
  15. yadda yadda yadda.... galvanic corrosion. Better safe than sorry, but it's probably not going to happen in your lifetime. Now try mooring your aircraft at the end of a dock, with a 3600 volt submersible cable in the water under the float tips and a 52 volt DC phone line under the bows and you have yourself a sacrificial plating situation. Thankfully I noticed after 3 weeks on that dock a few years ago... but still have the severe pit marks to show it. Another 2 weeks or so and it probably would have sunk.
  16. 50 bucks Chris.. case and a half of beer! If you're running dedicated snows you may as well take them up on what the government made them offer.
  17. VERY nice Mike! Glad to see you getting out!
  18. Dave I said it elsewhere... but during Jen's birthday week (11 days actually) I was hanging with a great group of friends. They understood my mental state, let me do my own thing and accommodated my every foot step. I'm sure it wasn't easy for them, but they took it in stride like true friends do. Even let me stay in bed on Tuesday, past Lloyd oclock, after 4 nights of minimal sleep and I just wasn't up for a full day on the lake. They did their thing and I did mine, mine being getting up late and then running to town a few times to get some summer items shuttled out to the island from my enclosed trailer to make life easier for Leah and I this summer.
  19. LOL "To Monday" Roger !
  20. Yep, just got an email back. Mine must be on until March 31st. Can change them April 1st. If they are not on in an accident or claim they have an avenue to deny the claim.
  21. 4 hooks of your choice!
  22. Reminds me Bondar.. I'd better look at my policy as I got a similar HUGE reduction for dedicated snows. If you get in an accident and the snows aren't on during the "required period" bet your bottom dollar that you're outta luck !
