  1. Temagami and Temagami. Hopefully we can finally settle in for a full summer again. The first "Temagami" happens in just 18 days, for a 10 day stint. Just praying the next 2 weeks of -20C tightens up the mess up there!
  2. Hopefully he used a legal gun...
  3. Well he'd better get more than the guy that taped the dog up and left it to die. He got 2 years last week. That said, sadly, I doubt he serves time at all and will get community service and a large sum payout to the family that's been shattered.
  4. What ever you pick, buy two so I have a new one to use as well !
  5. He was going cross country and got into icing conditions. With his wings loading up with ice he had no choice, either land or be landed! He broke threw the slush crust into 18" of surface water. Got off pretty lucky, other than the helicopter recovery it will cost him a prop, engine tear down and a lower cowling. Thankfully it never went over on its back.
  6. Lake Trout doesn't even open until Feb 15th in 11, but not sure that even Lake Temagami will be sleddible (if that's a word) by then. Currently snow covered, ice crust, then 12" of water under that and then about 8" of ice in the NE Arm. The South Arm apparently only has 2" of ice. It was open water back on January 12th! Glad we moved our boys trip out about 10 days from normal.
  7. Well I bet it was a LOT cheaper getting that jeep out than my buddies C185 in Timmins yesterday !
  8. They thinking LATE February Will ?
  9. LOL Roy, I was going to put this one up yesterday..
  10. Chip Chip step.. chip chip step, some just don't heed that advise.
  11. Anything out of Canada will be a chunk more, since most materials are imported.
  12. Does it come with a truck attached?
  13. Nice James, I'm sure you enjoyed the afternoon out! Be well !
  14. Well Sam you're headed to the right place, PMH and Mount Sinai pretty much work together and have the best of the best within their walls. In the 5 years we spent running the halls there they made leaps and bounds in advancement. Hopefully they have the right ticket for you!
  15. You've heard of the 72 cent dollar correct?
  16. Figured with the Liberals not specifying how much discount for snow tires it would be Bull, but I'm happy to report that I just had 3% removed from my premium on the truck. Considering I only pay $710 a year that 3% will buy me 4 new lug nuts, but for the young guys paying a few grand a year it could be a significant reduction for running snows.
  17. Steve, where exactly are you at down there... so I know for the next trip South!?
  18. Enjoy it all for what it is, picking favourites brings back bad memories of public school, gym class and picking teams.
  19. Nice Steve... almost went that way but we decided on elsewhere for January. Maybe next year!
  20. I'll just say in general that 2015 sucked... as did 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2009. The only savours for 2015 was that we managed to get in a 10 day "boys trip" to my camp in Temagami in February (with a week of -40C weather) and the 96 hours of Musky trolling I managed to get in with my good buddies Andy, Terry and Glen in late Fall. Terry and I also managed to get in a 4 day boys trip with Lloyd on the BOQ this Fall, which was good for all of us. Here's to 2016, it's got to be brighter !
  21. I'd rest my case there as well.. if I wasn't married to a meat eating 51 year old in similar condition! You live once.. make the most of it!
  22. No matter their age, give your kids an extra hug this Christmas!

  23. Sorry Oldironmaker, if you can call CAA then you can call a tow truck just as easy. Have a Wife, 32 kids and we've all driven a LOT of miles. One tow when the son spun my Tbird out when he was 17. $320 tow from Craighurst into Barrie, that became the insurance companies bill anyhow. No point in being double insured as you don't need CAA for an accident.
  24. Almost 38 legal years on the road.. the only time I ever ran out of gas I was 15 years old and out on tour with a buddy in our second car and had to walk home and wait for my dad to come home from bowling, then drive me to Perth for a can of gas.. back to the car in SF and then home. I drove... How much do you guys spend a year for CAA, in anticipation of a single $300 tow in your lifetime? I've never been towed, never had a flat that didn't make it home and only ran out of gas twice in my life.. once as noted above and 2nd time within 2000 feet of a gas station and I made it in neutral.
  25. Port Elmsley Drive in for me Lew... gf and I in the front and 4 guys, that had used their ticket money for beer, in the trunk! Good times... although I'm not sure I ever actually watched a movie there.
