  1. Be glad it's only your cat.. we had one next door that called children's aid on us and said we neglected our kids back in '89. Just a jealous busy body that couldn't bare her own and could not handle a young couple living next door with three kids, that owned their own house, at 24 year old.
  2. I wouldn't move an inch, but I may have less neighbours.
  3. Don't forget that a lot of sled issues are clutch set up. Terry and I have identical Skidoo 500's. Same track, same engine HP. I can creep away and even stop and then drive up a portage hill. Terry's could get stuck on flat ground as his clutch was set to engage late, at high rpm and spins the track.. while mine will just walk way.
  4. From a self cured friend, that amount sounds about right tb4me.
  5. LOL.. my principal had a Beaver tail in his desk. Don't ask how I know...
  6. Probably because the "rules" to this forum, at least use to, state that no political or religious threads would be tolerated. I care less, we're all fisherpeople and that seems to be the only requirement these days.
  7. Let me look in the boat house when I get there on Thursday morning...
  8. Why hard to believe... most of these "charities" are just collecting to pay their executive a salary. We collected to fund the UK poor and they did the same for our poor. Both paid their executives, no different than MADD that last time I checked donations go 70+ % of funding salaries. Was the first story of his youth my father in law told me over 35 years ago, I have little reason to doubt him. Maybe you're not old enough to remember having your teachers cram a UNICEF box in your hand and make you go door to door, but I certainly am.
  9. Going fishing next week, anyone know where I can get a Canada Goose coat cheap? Want an example of screwed up, we have a local family suing the CATHOLIC high school for making their daughter tolerate religion based activities during her time at St Theresa's and the fact they didn't modify prom protocol for her.
  10. I've never had an issue with my 20 in -40, while the guys were scrambling with their 1's !
  11. Leah's father came to Canada in 1946 and found it weird once in school that he had to collect for the poor people in the UK with UNICEF boxes. His brothers and sisters had to do the same damn thing in Holland for the poor people in Canada. It's just a global shell game...
  12. My mint '98 Skidoo 500 Touring only has 1543 miles on it. Father in law never used it.. I use it for ice fishing trips only.
  13. I'm here all week !!!
  14. I hear yah Steve.. when my father would be lecturing me (in 1981 or so) about the open beer left between the seats of the 'Bee parked behind the house, I would sway the conversation by asking him who the hell parked his car??.. at least mine was straight in it's spot! A different time for sure and maybe me telling such stories of my misguided youth over the years kept my 3 kids on the straight and narrow. That and knowing Mom or Dad were more than willing to pick them up if need be, but they have never driven impaired to the best of my knowledge (of course my Mother would say the same about me!). As for giving them cab money.. not a friggin chance. I was married at 20, and my kids can pay their own way through life just as I did after getting married with $13 bucks in my bank account. Leah had a grand and her mother froze her bank account! All that said and with the Muzzo family money some might be correct that he'll never come back for sentencing, but his grandfather worked hard to get where he is and I suspect the family will be certain to make Marco make things as right as they can be for all involved.
  15. Good for a chuckle, but almost think he's done some research for the verbage considering payment in gold. Now that I have my original 1886 land patent in my hand, for my property up North, I can actually refuse access to even a CO or Law enforcement as they have no right to enter under the king's law, which is valid forever, and forever hasn't come yet!
  16. Like NAW pointed it, it is a high current lake so be aware of where you are and going at all time.
  17. He got off work, headed home to the island and died. A sad deal all around...
  18. "Stupid" thick!
  19. John.. you're too old for the "what ever" mentality. You'll be there, I know you will no matter what it takes. I don't need to tell you that at 70+ he's done well. We've both lost a Daughter, I've also lost a sister at 49.. father at 59. Does any of that make it any easier, of course not, but we have to keep life in perspective and 72 is the average male age in Canada. That said, if he's currently doing chemo I would suspect he's got a little more time than you think to make that trip you probably want to take.. but possibly not, considering how quickly Jennifer went down hill, but I certainly hope for your sake that if you need to make the trip to make "things right" that you can. Probably not the best laid out reply... but I think you know where I'm coming from.
  20. LOL Roger !! Stay in the hut and fish through the night.
  21. If Jennifer hadn't of had an OPSEU benefit plan though her employer I would have been bankrupt a few years ago, with $3000 anti-infection needles every 3 weeks, all the other high $ drugs and her final $5000 / month "hail mary" pill prescription that ran for almost 7 months. Like most things in life it's a crap shoot. I'm still paying about $320 a month for our company drug / ltd/ etc medical coverage through my own plastics plant and like you my prescriptions and $150 every two years for eye glasses certainly doesn't come out in the wash, but what IF your medical situation changes? Can you afford that gamble if you need a hail mary play or will it put your family in a tail spin? One of those better the devil you know than the devil you don't!?
  22. ..or you could just look down at your speedo and know he got you!
  23. NICE.. fishing with Dad! The fish ain't bad either...
  24. Pay it, move on and don't change insurance brokers for at least 3 years. Life's too short to sit in court
  25. There are only 4 or 5 true water sites in Finlayson. Site #11 is the best one and we see the same people on it year after year for the past decade. Book ahead if you want water. Early season and late season one 1/2 of the park is gated off closed, and that is where the other two water sites are. There are a number of them along the shoreline road, but they are back side sites. You also can't tie a boat up to shore, has to go in the park marina. If you have a boat.. skip the park and just grab the first crown site, almost directly across from the park, and set up there. Quick trip to town for supplies, park to use the comfort station, etc. Free vs $30 a night. I probably should stop pointing that out before the park ends up closed....
