  1. Airmar don't cost that much more if you compare them to Lowrance duel frequency transducer. Airmar is a much better product IMO
  2. Transducers do wear out, I get that , But with all today's technology, why can't they make a transducer with a waterproof connector above the water line, let's say 4 feet above the ducer, Fishing the ducer Wire through the boat bulkheads etc is the hardest part and a PITA.
  3. Try Big Japanese Used Auto Parts They are in Finch/Weston Rd area 416-744-1517
  4. Henckels and Wusthof are the best mass produced knives for the quality of steel, They sharpen fairly easy and keep their edge longer than any other knife I own, What dulls a fillet knife the most is the scales and bones, I use a serrated kitchen knife to make the cut behind the head and along the back, as well as cutting rib cage, only use the fillet knife on the spinal area and for skinning. When it comes to fillet a mess of fish like a few dozen perch or crappie, I prefer the electric.
  5. The problem with some ( specially cheaper ones) is that the pump keeps running even when you stop the nozzle, that causes the pump head / valves to wear out fast, Whatever make / kind you buy make sure it has a built in pressure switch so it shuts off when you stop the nozzle,
  6. I didn't think there was any ice on Nipissing mid January this year Awesome fish !
  7. Been there a few times, very nice place, We'll run operation, Rob the owner is a great guy. excellent 16' Starcraft boats with floor, casting deck livewell, swivel seats with back rest, new (last year) Yamaha 20hp 4stk motors, and b&w sonars. Walleye fishing was very good early June, We had a great time. I heard they are making their lake C&R only this year, but I am not 100% sure.
  8. You can probably get a better deal from Radio World at the sportsman show, Or if you don't mind driving to Woodstock, Jose at Angling Outfitters will beat any body's price, he will walk you through The unit and set it all up for you, Worth the drive for his exceptional customer service IMO.
  9. Exactly, releasing it in a bath tub like environment with no natural habitat and food is very stressful and can't be good for its immune system.
  10. If that picture is real I would say that fish ate something other than just dyed bait.
  11. I own Yamaha both as main and kicker on my boat and they have been absolutely trouble free for the last 12 years, just engine oil and gear lube every fall, takes me about an hour. Have you priced Suzuki ? Also very reliable motors, I believe they are less $$ than Yamaha and Honda.
  12. We ( USA and allies ) have been blasting Al Quida in Afganistan since 911, The result is spreading of Al Quida all over the globe plus dozens of affiliated terror groups as far as Africa. Makes you think what has been gained by losing trillions of $$ and so many lives of our soldiers.
  13. ^ Well said Steve !!
  14. Our thoughts and prayer are with you and family, Let me know if you need any assistance with transportation etc around GTA
  15. Probably cost $40000 to replace 4 tires ?
  16. Always worth negotiating or fighting a ticket, specially if it effects your insurance. because when your rates go up, they stay up for a very long time. An insurance broker/agent is the last person I would want to voluntarily talk about my traffic tickets.
  17. Wow that's pretty nervy ? Is that in uniform ?
  18. This scam has been going on for a while now, Their phone area code shows as Ottawa or Kingston Ontario but it's a fake computer generated phone number, The call is actually made from some overseas location, They usually want you to transfer funds via western union or similar method and will never meet you in person. I called them back and tried to give him some choice words but he hung up before I could finish the first sentence. RCMP has no jurisdiction over those countries and can only request an investigation from the local law enforcement, which usually is more corrupt than the scammer.
  19. If the heating appliance (propane) is not vented to the outside, the CO detector will be going off all the time. As for operating temperature, you can have a portable CO detector and only use it while you are in the hut, 40F is + 4C, That's if your hut gets to that temp
  20. Tire size will depend on how much room you got between the wheel and the tail gate.
  21. Many people are not aware of a lot of corruption in that organization, All that donated stuff by you and me, only a fraction was sold in Goodwill stores, Some grade A stuff just walked out the back door, Most of the stuff was sold for pennies to Second hand clothing exporters.( Exporting to Eastern Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa ) Exporters who greased some "Big palms" got the biggest and the best grade shipment for literally pennies.
  22. Never fails ?
  23. I have a rough idea what will the outcome 5 years and few million $$$ later ?
  24. My wife just traded her 2010 Civic for a new 2016 Honda HRV, so far we are very impressed with the new vehicle. Same 1.8 liter motor as Civic with AWD and CVT transmission, Gas mileag is same as the Civic (if not slightly better) excellent in snow with Honda's AWD. Tons of cargo room with folding rear seats in all kinds of configurations.
