St croix pm610mf premier, ? for the muskie guys
Raf replied to vinnimon's topic in General Discussion
get a 6501 c3, it'll be a good all 'round reel without breaking the bank. the clicker is loud and it's a solid reel. -
Although it does make me cry a little (I love the FC and FD Turbo RX7s), that's very cool too DanD. I suppose it's a drag car -- I'm saying that because stuffing the ls1 would likely ruin weight distribution for road course and add a few pounds on top of it?

st jacobs is menonite country.. lots of shops with their wares as well they sell their products from their homes. just don't try to shop on sunday. you're also minutes away from kitchener/waterloo. the town itself is a bit of a tourist trap, but it is a nice little town. romantic... I guess??!?

http://muskie.fishn.ca/articles/start-muskie-fishing.shtml there's a link to a c&r article on the bottom as well.

90% of my rods are 1 piece. I used to own 2 piece rods but after trying my 1st one piece I wouldn't go back. Can't explain it - they 'feel' more solid. Transporting is not an issue, they either go in the boat or fit in my jeep (even the 8'6")

go with whatever's more comfortable. if there both equally comfortable, do yourself a favour and get used to right-hand retrieve as you will have many more options for reels. says the left hand retrieve baitcaster.

no the corvalus is junk too

Whats the best way to slow my boat down for trolling?
Raf replied to coreyhkh's topic in General Discussion
btw, my yahama's troll assist feature works great (can drop the rpms below idle) and i don't really need to use anything to slow down any more. so if you're looking for a new outboard, might be something to consider when choosing. -

drift socks work cheapest approach is to tie off 1 or 2 5 gallons pails off the rear. just keep an eye on the ropes around the prop if you stop and re-start. -
i started with a 30 on my 14.5 (carpet/seats/deck) then moved to a 40. the 40 is nicer because it does not have to work as hard (ie. more fuel efficient in the end since i can run it at a lower rpm to maintain the same speed), easier out of the hole. i think top speed is a function of hull design (as well as HP obviously) - top end wise there is a difference between 30/40 (32-33mph empty vs 37-39 empty) but the biggest difference is that i can keep that same speed loaded down with gear and a passenger where with the 30 the difference between loaded and unloaded was greater.

There's that.. and, at some point, you have to tell your parents you're gay.

I am just sw of orangeville. It's funny, after posting yesterday I drove into hillsburgh and saw Xplornet 4G signs have popped up. From what I can tell this is a new service and different from what Xplornet was offering previously. I need to call them and ask questions, their website shows a 49.95 / 10 gig service or 69.95 / 30 gig service with speed of "up to" 3 / 5. Right now I am paying 45 for 3/gigs with Bell (turbo hub) - speed is "up to" 5 and that's plenty quick for my needs. If Xplornet 4G is not available in your area yet, it will be soon.

with any luck, bps out, cabelas in.

i would think any 7' mh you'd also use for bass & pike would be good.

thermarest and the like are designed for lightweight portability and comfort is a bit of an after-thought. having said that, if you are currently using one of the super ultra light models right now, there are thicker "base-camp" models that may or may not be comfortable enough for you - they are not as 'portable' but still pack decent. next we have inflatable mattresses. again, more comfortable but bulkier still to pack. it all depends on the type of camping you do and if you can afford to pack heavier or not.

i'll be fishing muskie somewhere hoping to keep these silly incidental fish off my line.

Press them guys. There was a post on another forum that I frequent in reference to Rogers doing the same thing that yes, they are scrapping the current rural internet and replacing it with the turbohub/stick HOWEVER, they were offering BIG discounts to do so to appease the people who enjoyed higher bandwidth caps with the previous option. If Bell does not do the same, this would be a good time to threaten to move. btw, I am on the Bell TurboHub.. and yes, I have to watch the monthly consumption. It's not bad at 3gb and we are usually below 3gb/mnth (two adults - that are heavy [but smart ie. no netflix, youtube] users - i also setup a web cache proxy yo help), but at nearly $100 for 10gb it gets really expensive really quick. Depending on what you use the internet for.. Xplornet can be decent given the higher monthly bandwith caps or can be utter crap. The problem with satellite is the high-latency. For example, if you do any kind of online gaming, you can forget about it. Rural Ontario is a 3rd world nation (not really) when it comes to high speed internet options.

a bucktail and a suick have caught fish for over a roy's age and (surprise, surprise) both in some form are attached to two of my rods just about all the time. if those would be the only two lures available to me, i'd catch fish and do better than skipper in spelling class.

she's brave getting that one on top of her foot. bet that hurt a bunch.

Can I just use an axe to punch holes for ice fishing?
Raf replied to Weeds's topic in General Discussion
attach a lanyard to the axe and arm.. i could see it easily slipping into the depths. -
be prepared to run them/stimulate them daily (sounds like you are) . most kinds of working/gun dog need daily exercise otherwise they may get destructive. definatley not apartment/condo dogs, you need a big yard or property for them to run.
-
for swimbaits the curado 300 is propably the reel to get for bucktails the 7000. you won't burn dbl 10s with either, although the 7000 has the torque to pull the blades better than the curado.
-
the aforementioned hastings marine usually has inventory of new-non currents, might be worth a call at least. i second the good to deal with comment. i bought my new non-current motor from them.

i think there's still a problem, i don't have any.
