  1. service canada unless they changed that too
  2. while lunar phases definately play a big role, i'm a believer that weather/pressure trump them. now if you get both aligned, prepare for some good fishing. there was lots of wildlife moving last night, could hear/see deer, coyotes and owls out'n'about sitting on my porch. btw, this is what the moon looked like last night (not my photo)
  3. would love to see one.. i think. they get quite big - up to 70lbs for males
  4. get there at sunrise if you hope to find parking nearby.
  5. Don't bother with it. Gains will be negligable or placebo. Save your money and keep your vehicle in a good state of tune.
  6. save for a true #1 center (of which there are 0 available) and/or thinking they won't be able to resign a UFA, I don't believe the leafs should make any moves. This team is young, growing and getting better and better. We've waited how many years for a playoff appearance? We can wait another if it doesn't happen (though I believe the current cast can make the last seed) Don't sacrifice the future to make some run.
  7. Burns tackle on plains rd in burlington (if he's still operating). If Sail's going into the Ikea, that's (literally) a long cast away from Burns Tackle.
  8. i live just north of acton i have a pond on my property i wouldnt walk on it
  9. you already have an MEC for overpriced stuff for the yuppy tree huggers.

a packet sniffer can read what you are sending/recving, no keylogger required.. it would require some configuration and know how-to to intercept but... point is it can be done.

don't worry about it too much. like woodenboater said, disable file sharing on your pc. if you do this, others will be able to see your pc is connected but not access anything. if you have a home network setup, then you should add additional measures to secure your portion of the LAN.
  12. i use 3 rods.. a 7 mh spinning with a 2500 series reel and 30lb braid a 7 mh baitcaster with a 201 curado and 50lb braid and a light musky outfit, 7' shimano compre muskie baitcaster with a 301 curado, 65lb braid if there are no big pike where you fish the 1st two setups will be fine. just make sure you use a wire leader or fluoro of at least 50lb. even the dinkiest snot rockets have razor sharp teeth that'll slice through thinner fluoro. the 5500 abu you have is a perfect pike reel.
  13. has to be dead calm and boat moving slowly or not at all for it to work in the boat. seems to work good by the campfire.
  14. It could have, but that would have made it far too easy for you to fight it. The idea of making you come in is that you will not come in and instead just roll-over and take it. ALWAYS FIGHT YOUR TICKETS!!
  15. my 0.02c is this if you're in a hut, knock yourself out and use braid. if you're in the elements, braid will take in water and freeze on your reel. if you're fishing shallow, in my opinion there's no need for braid. if you're fishing deep water fish (ie. lakers/whitefish) then weigh the pros (sensitivity) and cons (cost, freezing).
  16. Arrrrrrrrrrrgos
  17. those trucks you did are pretty damn cool Skipper.
  18. if I'm not mistaken, BMW use(d) a similar idea to the pressure sensitive brake lights. The LED lights had two rings, the outer ring would light up under harder pressure. Don't remember where I read it or if it ever went into production. edit: yeah they use adaptive brake lights on some models that light up additional leds when braking hard.
  19. was not aware of this change, CCG used to be the authority. Does that mean any life jackets we may buy need to be Dept of Transport Canada approved in order to be legal.
  20. The suspenders are a nice touch too. Relieve some of the pressure of the weight of the suit off your back after wearing it all day. I have a mustang and wish my model came with suspenders.
  21. Whatever you decide to go with, it's a good idea to make sure it Canadian Coast Guard approved. Especially if you plan on using it in the boat in the early spring/late fall. May be different now, but the old buoy o buoy & helly hansens were not.
  22. welcome, i'm a wee bit south of you, (new to the) hillsburgh area.
  23. I hear there's an article in OOD which may or may not be helpful.
  24. I know they aren't as accurate but wouldn't that be a pretty good reason to run an electric gauge/sender instead of a mechanical gauge with an oil line running to it?
  25. dacron works on the tip ups for the jig sticks, 14-17 trilene xt with a wire leader.
