  1. Thanks Blaque, that sounds like the one I was referring to. Appears the problem was caused in October so fortunately, I'm not affected.
  2. I also heard recentely about a recall on the Ford F-150's but so far I haven't been contacted by my dealer. If I don't hear by next week I'll give them a call. Something evidentely can short out causing a fire but details were sketchy at best.
  3. I plan on being there Norm, I'm only about 20 minutes away.
  4. Congratulations to your daughter Gerry and best of luck to her.
  5. Happy B-Day Cliff, all the best to ya !!
  6. It's a sad thing for sure.
  7. I agree with a couple of the posters above Bruce, stay away from the plastic holders if your gonna run the large musky baits. The pressure from the big lips can strip the plastic. Go with the Downeasters.
  8. Best of luck & hope you recover soon Dano, sounds like you've been having a tough time for awhile now.
  9. This is my dad and I out front of my brothers house on Scugog about 25 years ago. It's hard to tell from the picture but Dad's got a fish hook buried deep in his left thumb that he couldn't get out and he's just heading into the hospital to get it removed. It wasn't funny at the time but we laughed about it alot years later.
  10. Really sad news Rick and sorry to hear it. Condolances from from my home to yours.
  11. I've been retired goin on 11 years now and I'm still up every morning between 2 and 4 0'clock as it's definetely the nicest time of day. When I was working, the firehall I worked outta the last 25 years was only a mile from home yet I'd still hop on my bike about 3 A.M. and log anywhere from 10-30 miles before heading into work and I'd do that 12 months of the year, course when there was a foot of snow on the road I may not go quite as far.
  12. For me personally, I have zero interest in ice fishing so this time of year I very seldom even look at a fishing report let alone reply to them. Nothing personal against anyone, it's just not something that gets my attention. As for posting fishing reports, I haven't put one up for about 3 years now mainly because I have no time for all the so called "musky experts" around here that like to disect everything and have far too many opinions for my liking, but that's just me. I enjoy alot of the non-fishing reports and find they fill in the void until the soft water season returns
  13. Best of luck to ya Chris, you've been thru alot and hopefully this'll fix everything up like new.
  14. I caught my 1st ever musky close to 40 years ago on a Beno Eel while fishing for pickeral. I don't use it anymore but I've still got it tucked away in a tackle box around here somewhere. Seems to me it's green with spots on it. Used to catch alot of fish with an orange one too.
  15. Thirty odd years ago my brother was driving along the 401 near Belleville in a red Ford van when 3 police cruisers came up behind him, boxed him in and forced him outta the truck at gun point. After they did some checks they realised they had the wrong guy but apologized and explained that there had just been an armed robbery and the punk with the gun had taken off in a red Ford van exactly like my brother was driving. My brother accepted their apology and thanked the coppers for doing a tough job and went on about his business. Back in 1963 there was a big fight between 2 biker gangs in front of Scarboro arena in Scarboro. There were a couple dozen bikers trying to kill each other and just a handful of cops trying to arrest them. I was driving by and foolishly stopped to watch, got too close to the fight and was grabbed by the cops, handcuffed along with a bunch of bikers, tossed in the paddy wagon and spent the weekend in the old Don Jail before everything got straightened out. I received apologies from the Toronto Police Dept and the Chief of Police. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and in all the confusion I got grabbed but the police were very fast to set things straight when the mistake was figured out. As for the dispute in this post, I'd much rather see a cop pull his gun when it's not needed than see a cop murdered because he didn't have his gun out. They've got a tough job to do and it's getting tougher everyday. But that's just my opinion
  16. Beautiful '64 GTO your Pop drives around in Art. I had a '65 Parisienne (Bonneville) ragtop back in the day and would give darned near anything to have it back today.
  17. Good to have ya back misfish, I never could figure out that BrianB feller
  18. Scary stuff Chuck but good to hear everything turned out OK
  19. I'd also recommend a bunk trailer and for all the reasons listed above.
  20. Hey John, Diane and I will be there August 6-20 in the same cabin as last year.
  21. Thanks for that moxie, it made for a great early morning read !! Your son will remember that 1st musky for a very long time.
  22. You want to hang onto that lady Dann, you've got yourself a real winner there !!
  23. I just remembered another governmemt screw-up involving a new boat purchase. I bought a new boat in 1999 and payed cash for it including all taxes and licensing and went on my way. Two years later I got a letter from the government...can't remember which one....wanting a copy of my bill of sale to prove I'd payed all my sales tax on the boat. Not a big problem so I sent them the photocopy showing everything was payed in full. Couple years later I got another letter from them requesting the same thing again, so I sent them yet another photocopy showing I didn't owe them anything. Well they say things happen in three's and sure enuff, I get yet another letter from these characters wanting proof for the 3rd time that taxes were payed. I totally ignored the final demand and never heard from them again, so perhaps I should have ignored the other letters too. I still have my original bill of sale though just incase they decide to harrass me again for the taxes. It really is sad.
  24. Same thing for me Chris, the new truck came with Sirius free for 6 months and I liked it so I continued the subscription. For around 40 or 50 cents a day for the music I like it's pretty cheap entertainment. It's usually 50's rock and when I want a laff it's Blue Collar Radio. Very nice not having to listen to commercials 1/2 the time.
  25. Really sorry to hear the news Brian, it's one of the toughest things a person ever goes thru & you've sure got my sympathies. My little buddy Marvin turned 14 last October and it's something I think about every day.
