I was sitting here at the computer an hour ago and glanced out the window to see a small herd of deer wandering down the road in front of the house and was able to get a few pictures of them. It was interesting as they were all walking in single file as if on parade There's only a few of us that live around here in the winter months and there's only been a couple cars down the road all weekend so I guess their taking advantage of no people, plus the easy walking on the road compared to the deep snow back in the woods. There's a doe with 2 younguns that we see quite often and this is Mom with one of the kids. And this is the other little guy running down the road to catch up to Mom. I dunno if anybody else is interested in this kinda stuff but I think it's really entertaining and anyways, when a feller isn't interested in ice fish'n, it's something to do on a Sunday morning

Your over-thinking this Paul, it's not nearly as hard as you think it's gonna be. Just don't ever light up another smoke, get on with your life and forget about cigarettes, it's that easy. It's been 20 years now since I gave up those filthy stinking things cold turkey and it was the best thing I ever did. If you keep thinking and talking about cigarettes, their gonna be on your mind constantly. The only person who can't quit smoking is the person who doesn't really want to quit.

Well, since I posted 2 hours ago about doing everybodies driveways plus the road, we've had another 3-4" of snow and it's still coming down hard and looks like I did nuthin all day. Oh well, at least now I've got something to do tomorrow

I just came in awhile ago after spending nearly 3 hours with the snowblower cleaning up my place plus three of the neighbors drives too. The plow hasn't come by yet so once I finished all the driveways I cleaned off 500' off the dirt road too. It's only about 12' wide but no sense leaving the snow there for the plow dood to fill in all the driveways again. I luv working outside and a day like this is a good excuse to get out there and help a few folks. Course now, I'm looking out the window and it's snowing like crazy again

Lotsa snow and wind up this way, but just to make it interesting, we had a bright flash of lightening awhile ago followed by rolling thunder. Gotta luv Mother Nature when she decides to put on a show -

There's only about 4 cars that go down my road all day, so traffic jams won't be a problem, and I have nowhere important to go on Wednesday anyways, so the only driving I'll be doing will be with the snowblower. And the snowblower DOES have good winter tires -
Thanks for the replies boyz. The reason I asked here was because I couldn't find my manuals, but after telling my wife they were lost she handed them to me in about 3 seconds......If you lose something and can't find it after looking for a week, just ask your wife Anyways, the manuals all say to run stabilizer thru the engine, then completely drain the tank and carbs for storage. Thanks again guys.

I do all my own maintanance on my lawnmowers, snowblower, chainsaws, generator and outboard motor and have never had any problems with anything. Everything is 4 stroke and I run regular 87 octane gas in everything and also use Stabil and Seafoam. In my 150 Yamaha I use Marine Stabil. I was talking to a small engine repair guy the other day who has many years in the business and he tells me I'm doing it totally wrong. He says anything that will be stored for any length of time should have the gas completely drained out including carbs and only re-filled when their going to be used. He also says I should be running hi-octane gas in the small engines even though the manuals call for regular. The generator is a back-up for power to the house and I'd rather not have to be refilling it in total darkness one night in order to get it going. Does anybody know ABSOLUTELY FOR SURE if everything should be drained completely or is it OK to leave stabilized gas in them and also, do they require hi-octane ?? For what it's worth, I run the generator for about 20 minutes every month just to be sure it's always ready to go when needed. Sorry for the long post but this is something that everybody has a different opinion on and I'm just wondering if anybody knows FOR SURE.

You'd look good behind the wheel of that big orange & white cruiser Harry

Albert, I remember when you 1st wrote that story and I've always thought it was one of the best fishing tales ever posted on this board

Probably the coldest night I've ever been lost in the woods in a truck with no heater

Hey Norm, I have a bit of gout that flares up every couple years and when it does, I pop a couple Indomethacin and it clears it right up. Just a thought.

Great picture Geoff !! I have a bunch of deer in the backyard every morning & evening but so far haven't got them feeding outta my hand yet, although a couple days ago 3 of them walked within 5 feet of the back steps. Beautiful critters !!

Your 100% right Wayne and if I remember correctly troutman1 is just a youngster. He's obviously very upset with losing his lifelong friend but some of these guys would rather make him feel like a fool for expressing his feelings. Makes you wonder about some of the folks around here.

I'm driving a 2010 F-150 Super Crew with the 5.4 and after 1 full year now I can honestly say it's the best vehicle I've ever owned and would highly recommend it to anyone. It pulls my heavy 19' glass boat effortlessly and the ride is extremely comfortable. I've got a few friends with the same truck and they all say the same thing. But for what it's worth, I think any of the big 3 put out good trucks right now so it may just be a choice of who gives the best deal.

Wonderful news Cliff, it must be a great feeling to return to clear vision again.

In the nearly 9 years I've been on this board I've had the pleasure of sharing a boat with more than 60 OFNers. Sadly most of them no longer post here but every one of them was a great guy and I still fish with a few of them.

Yup, that's the one Brian, thanks bud. Awesome fishin video

Good onya for getting out fishing in those temps Simon. We had -32 down here last week and although it wasn't a record it was pretty darned close to it. My dad grew up in Saskatchewan where -30 to -40 were/are somewhat the norm but he always said it wasn't bad cause it was a dry cold. I dunno, but -40 is pretty darned cold no matter how you slice it -
Frank, the doctor also asked if her eyes water during the headache and the answer is no, never. And she also never gets them while asleep. I'm a very lucky person who never gets headaches, infact as I posted in a thread a few weeks ago, I've honestly NEVER had a headache in my life....touch wood.....yet my daughter has suffered with them since she was a child and is now 37 and now my wife is getting them too, but fortunately not too severe. Anybody know if migrains are hereditary or not ??

Interesting that you post this today Frank as my wife was just diagnosed with cluster headaches yesterday. She's been getting them for awhile now and the pain is centered around her left eye. It comes on fast and is quite painful for her but fortunately only lasts a very short time. Her doctor prescribed Cafergot but rather than taking it when the pain starts as it says in this link, he wants her to take one pill twice a day for 2 weeks and see what happens.......Fingers crossed. Maybe talk to your doc and see what he says. http://www.medbroadcast.com/drug_info_details.asp?brand_name_id=1163#Indication
