Garnet Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 Anybody from my address closer than 6 ft. My case wife are chairs are within touch. Anybody not from my address 6ft and more. My boat is 8ft wide and 20 ft long. So I meet my buddy at ramp . I fish the front he fishes back neither of us need any help landing fish or with equipment. So about the same as always. 1 1
Fish Farmer Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 It's not 6' it's 7', 2 meters Everyone should fish by them self till this crap is over and they change the rules. $800.00 fines and they will be watching. Please everyone don't screw this up for the rest of us.
Terry Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 The government doesn’t do math very well almost every sign says 6 feet or 2 meters. So if someone wants to to 6 ‘ they are legal 1
Alumacraft Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 (edited) How do you and your buddy plan drive your boat? Even in my buddies 20' Ranger I can still reach out with my arm and touch him while we are traveling from spot to spot. You must have a very wide boat. Play it safe and fish alone. Garnet Posted May 15, 2020 Author Report Posted May 15, 2020 The fun is get your buddy and go fishing. If you feel need to touch is your deal.
Alumacraft Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 You're just a dumbass. My point is that you can not social distance while traveling in a boat. Good ahead and be stupid if you want.
Garnet Posted May 15, 2020 Author Report Posted May 15, 2020 Do you no boats go forward. And to clarify meeting buddy at ramp.
Alumacraft Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 Really eh that's interesting I never knew that. 🤯. I've been in a lot of boats in my life but I've never been in one that has 6' of separation between the drivers seat and passenger seat. 2
Terry Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 But do they not also say if you can’t social distance then wear a mask or a condom or something like that 2

BillM Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 Don't make out with your buddy in the boat and wash your hands, you'll all survive. 1

BTW: 2 meters = 6'6" It's not a Provincial law, but it's not just a suggestion either. The requierent for social distancing is managed via Municipal By-law. If you are not sure whether the Municipality that you are in has a By-law (not all do) then best to play it safe and stay 2m apart. Example: Edited May 15, 2020 by Dutch01

Garnet Posted May 15, 2020 Author Report Posted May 15, 2020 I told my buddy that I would pick him up but he would need to ride in boat.
Woodsman Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 I've heard those stories but no one has shown proof of it. Actually the OPP have said it's not true. And local restrictions don't apply on the great lakes. And the local by-law Dutch01 posted itself doesn't state it applies on roadways or water. It does mention were it does apply.
misfish Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 No worries for this guy. Only room for one on my toon. I do have oars that are 6 ft long. If you get closer then them, yer getting a good wack with them and maybe even a 2nd for stupidity. A third for the hell of it so it might sink in . LOL 4

I'm just going by what has been said. Fines that have been given out are fake news? Myself, if the rules are not followed the municipality will board things up again. Dutch01 Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 The point of my example was not that you should be careful fishing in Brampton. It is POSSIBLE to be fined for failing to follow the various social distancing guidelines, so everyone should be mindful of those rules just to be on the safe side. 1

Don’t bother telling them. I give up. Let them believe it and stay home. It has been an incredibly quiet weekend in the kawarthas. To be honest I hope this keeps up all summer. I’m done telling them, there actually couldn’t be a better situation. Maybe higher water levels but otherwise mint!

porkpie Posted May 17, 2020 Report Posted May 17, 2020 LOL, hilarious. We’ve seen maybe 6 boats on the lake this weekend and fished a dam by a lock on our own last night. Unheard of!

I'm saying find me an example of someone getting a $840 for not physical distancing.. It's a suggestion, not a law. 1
