grimsbylander Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Ranger 487VS with a 200 EFI Mariner Magnum. 23P 4 blade Trophy Plus prop. 64 MPH with two people. I could go up to a 25P 3 blade to win some top end but I like the bite of the 4 blade on Erie.
Fisherman Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Fast enough to take your hat off.
JoePa Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Wooden row boat - with oars - about 1 mph - with me and the dog - fast enough for me -
Spanky80 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 (edited) 2010 Stratos 285XL DC with ETEC 150HO, 24 pitch Raker. 60 - 61 mph GPS with me and my fiance and 3/4 tank of fuel. Edited September 13, 2015 by Spanky
Joeytier Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Cool thread. My lund wc-12 w/ 2008 Merc 15hp 2stroke will do 24-25 mph by myself (which is downright haywire in a 12 footer solo) and 18-20 mph with 2 guys and gear.
bobkayla Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 2011 txw tracker with a 60 merc 4stroke ,,,,2 guys,,,,37 mph
Canuck Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 10.6 Foot Mercury fibreglass bottom RIB with 8 hp Yamaha. With me solo and my fishing gear, 17mph flat out. It goes about 38 mph when attached to the back of the Sea Ray mother ship, burning about 50 gallons (180 litres) per hour at WOT.
misfish Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Lately not fast enough! You dont need a boat. You have a mobile living van that can come up and fish knox. lol. I even know another spot close by there you can set up and spend a couple of days.

Spiel Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 As for the boat. 2006 Lund Explorer 1700. 75 Merc 4 stroke tiller, goes like stink. Two guys and gear with 27 gals. fuel I have had her up to 42 mph. However, hard to handle the tiller with no hull in the water, comfortably 36 to 38 all day long. Now if I could just tap into the extra 15 horse that exists under the cowling....
kickingfrog Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Cool thread. My lund wc-12 w/ 2008 Merc 15hp 2stroke will do 24-25 mph by myself (which is downright haywire in a 12 footer solo) and 18-20 mph with 2 guys and gear. Ya some of the hairiest rides I've had were in a little aluminum with a way too big motor on the back. Likely felt way faster than it actually was but still that thing would just up and go then skip along, one hand on the tiller the other on the gunwale.
Joeytier Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Oh yeah. Mine is coast-guard approved for a 15, though.
kickingfrog Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Ours was rated for exactly what the stickers on the cowling said it was rated for.
Old Ironmaker Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 StarCraft Superfisherman 190. 115 Mariner and 15 Mariner kicker, 450 pounds of fishermen and all equipment, 35 MPH, at 4500 RPM,
grimsbylander Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 For years I had a 14' aluminum with a 35hp Merc tiller. That little bugger flew. Didn't seem to matter how many people you had in the boat either! Lol I have to admit I love the stability of the Ranger at top end. I think the tinny felt faster though.
musky666 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 My '89 Starcraft 17' side console went 40 mph with a 115 yamaha 4 stroke, new Kingfisher Flex 2025 with Suzuki 225 four stroke runs 54 mph, all on GPS.
DRIFTER_016 Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 1991 Fisher SV18-GT with a 2013 Merc 115 hp 4 stroke. With a full load of fuel me, the dog and supplies for the weekend @ the cabin 42MPH @ 5850 RPM. Cruise is 27-28 MPH @ 3950 RPM.
