Rod Caster Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 Just heard from a guy that a guy that another guy knows saw a pic of some guy with a 34" walleye from Nipissing. Ok, so it's barely plausible but I like to believe it's true. We all saw that pic of the 34" (i think it was 34") walleye from Temagami....I'm wondering what other first hand or sixth hand stories you've heard of big walleye coming from Canadian waters. I've also seen my buddy pull in a 15 pound walleye from Nosobonsing, It measured around 30 inches. My biggest walleye from an back lake was around 24"
fishhunter Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 Now terry show the ones with meat and taters. Not the ones that look like they have given up eating. This winter on the bay friend pulled in a hog 15.4 lbs not sure of length.
Terry Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 wow, what is that, like 29? yeah, like 29" between the hands
DRIFTER_016 Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 MEH, babies!!!!! OK, so it's not really a walleye. It's a Zander.

muddler Posted March 1, 2013 Report Posted March 1, 2013 Last year I got 11 30"+ walleyes. I fish the same spot every day at sunset all summer long. The year before we got 8 that were 30" or better. A quick measure and back they go, much to he anger of the other fishermen. These guys keep every big fish they catch. My favourite spot, just 5 minutes from home. Muddleer
Fish Farmer Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 In our club we have measured lots of 30" Walleye and they average maybe 10 Lbs.

Nipfisher Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 Just heard from a guy that a guy that another guy knows saw a pic of some guy with a 34" walleye from Nipissing. I've also seen my buddy pull in a 15 pound walleye from Nosobonsing, It measured around 30 inches. My biggest walleye from an back lake was around 24" I am the guy that talked to Chad about it. I heard it from a local Bait Shop (I trust that source) and he saw the pictures. I believe there are 35" walleye in Lake Nipissing and in the upper French River however I was skeptical about the 18 pound weight that was claimed. I have seen 12 and 13 pounders from a local lake and seen a couple of 11 pound walleye from the French River this summer. I believe I now have Rod Caster hooked on targeting a HUGE walleye on Nipissing. Haha.
mercman Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 this one is the longest, but not very heavy Mines longer...:-)
BillM Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 I gotta start holding my fish 3ft off my chest, those 31in walleyes will start looking like 34-35inchers!!!!
Terry Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 well if you are commenting on mine my right elbow is touching my the front of my coat and the arm is almost strait up and the left arm is strait down my side to the elbow, then 90 deg out , so no holding way out there
BillM Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 Terry, I wasn't commenting on yours at all bud Take a look at the thread, they aren't very hard to pick out.
crappieperchhunter Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 I saw a walleye maybe 10 years ago at the dam in Gamebridge off Simcoe. Stopped to show my son the walleye below the dam. I have seen 14's on Quinte....all I can say is that it was MUCH MUCH bigger then those fish. I tell everyone I saw a 20LB walleye. Purely speculation but I believe it really was.
Moosebunk Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 22+ pounds. World Record. Biggest I've heard of. In my boat... 14lbs. Just a baby.
